What Floyd did is worse than taking steroids. He absolutely deserves to get roasted for fighting a kid much smaller than him, and with zero pro/amateur boxing experience. If any other top fighter did that, they'd get roasted for it.

And I don't buy the money excuse. For a guy who apparently made $1B, he could easily make over $9M with investments, without needing to take such a sorry excuse of a fight... Or he's just a ****ty businessman who doesn't know how to invest his money.

Japan is vital to the evolution of martial arts, I have a deep respect for their culture having studied martial arts myself for 30 years. My point was actually on a global level in MMA or Boxing or even kickboxing they have local stars that are considered the best in the world, but actually don’t fight overseas. It’s hangover from Sumo, Judo, Kendo and other styles and the belief that the masters in those disciplines are unrivalled.

It would have been a shock to some (who in some cases btw will never have seen Mayweather box before) to see their local hero dominated.

It is fair to say that in MMA the Japanese are no longer the powerhouse they once were and in Boxing they never have been. But of course in traditional styles like Sumo they are unrivalled, in Judo they are considered the best overall (although not without rivals) and so on, so yes, I they still have fighters, that was never my point.

It wasn’t staged, Mayweather looked drunk to me, Nasukawa was just to many levels lower and too small.

Fair enough. Maybe I may have misunderstood you before. Japan has had GOAT fighters in the past (e.g. Kimura, Inoki, etc.), but Japan hasn't had world-class fighters in a long time.

Nasukawa is one of the few world-class fighters they have at present... Which makes what Rizin did so bizarre, making him fight a much bigger fighter (let alone Mayweather of all people) in his boxing debut. Apparently, Japan has a tradition of making their stars fight in bizarre freak fights (e.g. Ali-Inoki). But Rizin has just tarnished Nasukawa's international reputation, just to promote their brand.

Yeah 9 million seems super low by his standards. I honestly don't know what he can do with it, a weekend?

This fight does nothing to diminish Nasukawa's record, as he's still an undefeated kickboxer and one of the world's top bantamweight kickboxers. On the other hand, Floyd and Rizin are greedy scumbags for putting on such a shameless charade.
Man has T.B.E. ruined your life

It was cool when everyone was bigger than T.B.E. & Tenshin is just as big as #48

If Mayweather fought any decent welterweight or even lightweight kickboxer under mixed rules, he would get KO'd in under a minute. Mayweather fans like you are delusional for thinking otherwise.
