    Rid**** Bowe - overrated

Bowe did so much less in his career than giving credit for. People act like he was some amazing heavyweight, but really, he was just a big plodder, a poor man's Jarrell Miller.

The best wins he had are his 2 over the small Holyfield, who he also lost too. He got two beat downs from journeyman Golota, who got DQ twice for ******ity, won a robbery against Billy Zumbrun in a SD (embarrassing)

Had a KO win over Bruce Seldin, but so did Kevin "safety pin" Johnson. Beat Herbie Hide, but so did Mindaugas Kulikauskas (14-9-2), beat Larry Donald, a poor man's Eddie Chambers, beat Michael Dokes, who also lost to Louis Monaco (16-39-5) and beat Tony Tubbs in a close fight, a guy who people only rate cos Tyson beat him, that ended up losing 10 fights.

He also threw a belt in the bin to avoid Lennox Lewis. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, too many people overrate the resume's of these fighters from the past, and underrate modern guys, despite them being superior. If Rid**** Bowe were fighting now, he'd be having wars with guys like Christian Hammer.

The highest you'll see him rated is like the 4th HW of his era. He was pretty good for a couple years then his career fell off a cliff..

Hes not overrated. He is a good H2H matchup. But I'm sure he doesn't make anyone's top ten hw list. Joshua has more of a claim

He is still overrated. 2-1 over Holyfield is it really. His prime lasted an hour. He'd be ranked 9 in TODAYS rankings. The 1st Holyfield fight was the only big win, unless you count the 2nd. NOTHING else.

I never cared for him. He was also a cheap-shot artist, often hitting opponents after the bell or after they had already taken a knee. Not much discipline. His DQ wins over Golota and the consequent beating he took were boxing karma for all of his and Rock Newman's antics.

He was a good boxer though, far better than today's HW's, especially Miller. But he took too many shortcuts and ducked Lewis, for that he doesn't belong on anyone's top HW list.
