Comments Thread For: Charlie Edwards Targets Unification Bouts in 2019

Charlie Edwards has quickly turned his thoughts to unification bouts after seizing the WBC world flyweight title with a masterclass against Cristofer Rosales. The Surrey star (14-1-KO6) earned a wide points victory over the highly-rated Nicaraguan at London's O2 on December 22 but rather than revel in the glory of the famous green belt, Edwards is already thinking of the next step towards complete domination.

        Kid has improved though

        He did great vs Rosales...

Let's see him Vs Dalakian, Mthalane or Tanaka. I think he has a chance to beat Dalakian and Mthalane. Tanaka would kill him if I'm being real

Good point! What's happening with the Legrand EBU title fight? I know Chris Sanigar has won the purse bid, but there's still no announcement. Also Selby hasn't defended the British title in over 2 years, which is a breach of BBBofC rules & should really be stripped. Surely it's time for Charlie Hoy & Jay Harris to be nominated to fight for the vacant Lonsdale belt 112Lb!!....

I feel like BBBofC forgot the lower weights existed years back.

Lets see him fight that South African with the crazy name. Neither seems like some killer and they both have belts so it makes sense to unify.

They tried to make Edwards vs Mthalane but Mthalane wasn't interested. When Edwards won apparently Mthalanes people got in touch again. So yeah, youd think there will be no problem to make it now

Their site says Flyweight will be dealt with at their next meeting.

Sanigar won a purse bid for Selby to fight Legrand a while back. Then last week there was another purse bid for a WBC final eliminator against Julio Cesar Martinez which Selby lost, represented by PBC. So hes either off to Mexico, or I'd say he'll be fighting on the Eubank Jr/Degale undercard, his brother is supposedly on there
