Boxing fans who do not like MMA; what are your reasons?

The Mayweather/McGregor fight brought out the worst in a lot of fans of boxing and MMA, as the two 'sides' slinged insults at one another and their respective sports, rather than engaging in mature debate and discussion.
If you're a boxing fan and you do not like MMA, what are your reasons? I'm not trying to change or challenge anybody's opinion, I'm just interested to know your thoughts.
I have given MMA a try many times, but I just cannot get into it. Personally to me it just feels like Wrestling mixed with bar room brawling.Comment

they're amateurs in almost every aspect with the exception of a few fighters. i would rather watch the "specialist" preform the craft than novice in all aspects fight each other. then again there are certain fighters that are just obviously phenoms like jon jones, fedor, anderson silva that you just have to see if youre a fan of fightingComment

I'm a fan of both personally. Historically thou MMA is thousands of years old (pankration is basically the precursor).
I think its more of a boxing fans feel threatened by MMA as it become mainstream and MMA fan's feel disrespected by Boxing fans.
I'd say frustrated by, rather than threatened.
Before i get into this let me just say I don't have any problem with you and I think it's a good thing you know MMA has ancient roots. That said, you don't know **** about history son.
Boxing was called Pygmachia. It was added to the Panhellenic games in 686BC. Pankration was added nearly forty years later in 648BC.
The ancient Greeks even had a word for someone who had won boxing, mma, and wrestling crowns. These sports were called heavy sports by because they took a heavier toll on their athletes than most. A champion who had unified all three would be considered a Heavy Champion.
Boxing, MMA, and wrestling coexist in this manner for over a millennium and in all of that time we have only ever seen two Heavy Champions. Theaganese and Klietomachos. Both of which were boxers.
I don't reckon I need to farther that point to make my next one, but I can connect it up if you are lost to my meaning.
MMA is just lousy with misconceptions and a strong, vehement, belief in bull****. Sometimes talking to an MMA fans feels like talking to a tin foil hat style character. You know, the sort that believes in reptilian martians and such. You can't say anything to them to change their minds because what they believe in is already outside the realm of reality.
It's like what happens if George Dillman is take seriously and very athletic people make his nonsense look good. Dillman may be dated, look him up if you don't know the reference...he's funny, I promise.
You can't teach MMA fans history because they already know it even though they don't know their ass. You can't teach them kinesiology because they were already taught by *******s who used to pen articles for Black Belt magazine in the 80s but have since cut their mullets.
I mean seriously....Winkeljohn doesn't even hide his BS cliche 80s kung fu-mullet story. Hims a street fighter and a dojo rat can you dig it? Like a ****in' Jean Claude character or the sort of random baddies you see in games like Streets of Rage....or literally any other form of action media from the 80s.....but yeah...super decorated MMA trainer....Kung Fury on Netflix cracked me up good because it reminded me of when I was younger, then Conor McGregor made me sad because people still, still, buy that old kung-fu nonsense.
I'm getting on a soapbox here. I could rant for quite a while more if for some reason someone gets some joy out of me *****ing and crying about MMA but I reckon for right now I've made my point so I'll ***** about one last thing.
My biggest frustration with MMA is the question it is meant to ask has been asked over and over again and we always get the same answer. I already pointed out the only men to unify MMA and Boxing when it was possible are boxers. Did you ever think to look at any boxing history when the sport involved more than punching? Yeah, it's happened. It was called Rough and Tumble. Men lost their lives, their eyes were gouged out, there was even quite a lot of castration. What happened to Rough and Tumble? Eventually the men who were more successful at it were fighting just like boxers so they became boxers. They are the first American Bare Knuckle champions. Rough and Tumble served a springboard for boxers careers similar to golden gloves in modern times.
So you do have history on when there are no rules and you know who wins. You do have history on when the sports' fighters fought in one anothers sports and you know who wins. In both cases it is boxing.
So, in essence, MMA is an affront to what this sport has already proven. 3k years of boxing history and you all think it's a sport about punching because why? Exactly my young friend, y'all never thought about it before you told me about how historical MMA is. That sounds a bit harsh, I don't mean for that to be a personal attack just an attack against the position MMA takes and has propagated both to and through you.
Not threatened, I clearly know my history, but often frustrated because talking to MMA fans is just like the scene in idiocracy where Joe makes his case to the court.Comment

I was a big MMA fan in the 90s. Lost interest in the UFC in the mid 2000s or so. Just too many PPVs. Not interested in following a sport charging $65 every month for a PPV.Comment

Sorry, boxing only focuses on one style of Combat. MMA focusing on all.
You belittle MMA fan's but you sound pretty ignorant yourself.Comment
