Did Jermell Charlo HAVE TO Take a Loss?

As bad as that one scorecard was in the Jermall Charlo fight, PBC/Showtime have developed a pretty good reputation of delivering fair cards on basically all fights, calling fights fair, and pointing things out fairly to the audience when a suspect score gets turned in.I watched the fight and it's no way Jermell lost. His performance wasn't dominating but he still won. But that's besides the point.
Earlier this year after the Austin Trout fight, Jermell got into a little legal trouble. He was accused of domestic violence and had an upcoming court date. Since that article, no one has heard anything about that. What happened? Was it thrown out? Is there an upcoming court date? Nothing. It just disappeared.
Maybe he had to lose for that case to go away.
Because that loss makes no sense with what PBC is trying to do. Harrison didn't win decidedly to warrant a change in plans in PBCs 2019 calender.
Jermell Charlo was in a close tough fight, in a battle of his aggression versus Harrison's ring generalship behind his jab, and the judges went the other way. Pretty normal for a competitive fight.
Harrison goes up a bit, Charlo moves laterally, and you set the stage for a good rematch between two really good fighters; winner likely moves on to the Hurd fight, with the loser fighting a "get a good win" fight before lining up a fight before getting the the unified champion.Comment
