Wife refuses to let our son get into boxing. Anyone been in this situation?

My son is 10 years old. He's a boxing fanatic. Loves watching it. He also has a hell of a punch. A while back he asked me if he could learn to box because he said his friend at school is learning how at a gym and wants to do it to. He said he already asked his mother and she got mad and said no. I talked to her and she said absolutely not as it causes brain damage and it's ****** and barbaric.

How do I approach this guys?

I'd go with the self defense angle. Every man needs to know how to defend themselves and/or loved one's if it comes down to it period.

Have him start just doing regular boxing training, and that's how you get your trojan horse in the door. Once he starts training he'll have no choice, but to spar eventually.

I basically had to corner my wife, literally, against the wall and yell at her that our son has his own path. She cried and said "get off me please", and I just raised my voice even more and closed the gap. My teeth were literally grinding against her forehead and I grabbed her by her shoulder and told her "DO NOT LET YOUR LIFE FAILURES PREVENT OUR SON FROM REACHING HIS GOALS". She started shaking and broke down crying so I whispered to her ear "You are nothing, do you want the same for Eugene?". She literally collapsed and said "fine" on her way down. We haven't talked about it since and she doesnt even ask when I take him to the gym.

Again, this approach works with my wife but doesnt mean it will work with yours. Sometimes you just have to be strong.

Healthy activity. Teaches discipline. Self defence. A chance he can earn $1b like Mayweather did when he is older

“Amateur boxing is different than pro boxing and he doesnt even have to compete. He can just learn and spar.” It is true.

Seriously though... say it’s important to the both of you and just do it. Your son will thank you.

Yeah she’ll be be pretty pissed if she’s not understanding but your son won’t grow up thinking he is too old then to give it a try.

Forego some booty and bjs for your son.
