No, muscles don't help. Some of the most heavy handed punches don't look to be in the best shape, In boxing and ufc. Look a Tim Bradley can't crack an egg and he is nothing but muscle. However I'm glad you posted a pic of aj and Tyson, because AJ unfairly catches a lot of slack for being in shape, which is weird as ***, because all the earlier eras HWs were all jacked an looked like actually athletes compared to today's. Only in today's era do people make fun of people that actually work out.

Giant muscles don't equal great punching power. There are champion body builders with much more muscle than those pictured who can't punch at all. Bradley is very muscular and he is not a hard puncher. Lots of skinny guys hit with great power. Some very muscular boxers punch hard and some don't.
