You know, if enough posters would sign a petition(s) and send it to the State athletic commission and a copy to Boxingscene and maybe Teddy Atlas (he is very vocal) then maybe there might be small chance for change.
I'd like to see several changes.
5 judges instead of three
more transparency - i want to be able to see why each round was scored as it was
not all judges at ringside at least one and maybe more watching tv coverage - when available

Something went on there...I hear Harrison has an engaging personality...perhaps had contact with the judges before the fight...you know, we like this guy...it was something, because the decision appeared to have nothing to do with the actual fight that happened. All three judges rarely get it wrong like that, it's usually just ONE idiot. Cong**** to Harrison, but anyone with two eyes saw that he did NOT win that fight. He was JUDGED the winner...

This is what Al Haymon is about, empowering the boxers. Many positive steps have already been taken, but there's still a long ways to go. I love where Jermell's head is at, and I'm assuming, Al's as well. These boxers risk their lives for our entertainment, and nothing else. They dont get paid, they dont become stars, they just fight for our entertainment. Due to that fact, I think Jermell is onto something here. Why not let the boxer judge his own fights? Why have judges at all? He's talking about picking the judges next time, but that's still empowering the judges more than the fighter. The fighter is the one who risks everything for our entertainment and nothing else. He should be the one who judges his fights, not the judges.
Now I know what you're thinking. What about the opponent? There are two boxers in every fight, correct? Well haven't you been paying attention to Al Haymon and Floyd's blueprint? That's what A-side/B-side is all about! That's the whole point of it, what it was invented for! The A-side gets to be the judge! All the B-side has to do is fight so it's actually less responsibility for them. These fighters risk everything for our entertainment, and nothing else, so the least we can do as fans is take some responsibility off their shoulders and make it easier for them. This way, only one fighter has to take on the extra responsibility, instead of both, which is at least a step in the right direction. I think the logical final step is just to let Al Haymon judge all the fights, and that way take the responsibility out of both fighters hands, but letting the A-side judge all the fights is a good step for now.Last edited by Boxing Logic; 12-26-2018, 07:57 PM.
