CARL FRAMPTON will consider his future over Christmas after defeat at the hands of Josh Warrington. The Belfast fighter suffered his second career loss as he came up short in his bid to become a four-time world champion. Frampton, 31, will sit down with wife, Christine, and his parents before making a decision on his next step after a unanimous points defeat by the IBF featherweight champion.

Carl Frampton one of my favorite fighters, but Warrington is in his prime now. Whats that saying? Once you become a champion, you become 50% better as a fighter? Something like that, well anyway, Warrington is miles ahead from where he was in the Kiko Martinez bout.

Interesting that they both signed long term contracts I thought Frampton was off to itv with haymon so Warren would be quite relived he lost.

There was a time Frampton would have danced out of Josh's way. Josh smothered him and he stood and exchanged instead of using angles. His legs are gone.

Frampton is a warrior! It was a tough loss but I didn't even think about retirement to be honest. Warrington is just on another level right now. I don't know if Frampton can pull out another world class win against elite featherweights so that remains to be seen. I still think he's a great fighter. This loss is a setback for sure since it would have been the culmination of a three fight win streak since losing to Santa Cruz. I guess we'll find out what he wants to do next soon. But the thing about the lower weights is that they seem to wear out sooner than the heavier weights. I think it's probably because at lower weights you depend more on your speed and youthful explosiveness whereas at higher weights your power can you through a lot more so than not.
