I've noticed it's 50/50 which is why when the fight was announced I said it was a lot more of an interesting fight than the Stevens fight. I do think it's funny though how much Korobov was hated on when the fight was announced, and now people are pumping the breaks on that
He was definitely better than Monroe, which any number of smart fans pointed out. Guys that hate Haymon/Floyd/Wilder/Charlo decided Korobov was easier just because that fit their hate agenda.

You can't take anything away from Korobov. He fought well and I had it even after 10 and thought Charlo won the last 2 rounds and thus won 7-5 IMO. In the rbr thread I posted I had no issue with 7-5 either way or a draw.

I just think winning a tougher than expected fight is the mark of a really good fighter. I said same thing when clowns talked about Loma, GGG and Wilder being exposed.

Sadly, the idiots that deal in "being exposed" have taken over the discussion about every major fight and it really is annoying.

His amateur record got nothing to do with his pro one. Just take a look at Zou Shiming... one of the best amateurs of all time at the lower weights, but he couldn't achieve anything as a pro. Charlo shouldn't have struggled as much with this version of Korobov if he was at an elite level rn period. If this was an eight rounder, like Korobov prepared for, he would've lost (Charlo). So yeah it seems like the only casual here is the boxingscene writer. The guys responding to him make lots of great points.
Korobov has fought 5 times since 2016

Jermall Charlo has fought 5 times since 2016

Korobov had a full camp and his fight was contracted at 162

We saw with his performance that he had no stamina issues so bringing up the fact he was training for 8rds means nothing.

He also has pro wins over Derek Edwards before he beat Badou Jack and Uzcategui before he beat Dirrell

But most importantly, styles make fights. This is the second veteran southpaw Jermall has looked less than stellar against

It really doesn't matter if Korobov was a bum or didn't have enough notice he didn't fight like it.

He would've given anyone a good fight with that performance. I could see him lasting the distance against Saunders, Andrade, and possible Jacobs. If Lemieux didn't catch him early I think he takes him the distance and outbox him. Canelo would probably have stopped him with a body shot. And we know Golovkin would've passed on fighting him on 10 days notice.

There's a good chance Korobov would've beat Monroe. Jermall did win the fight but it was close.

We've discussed this already though, Larry. In 2018 everyone is exposed. If you lose, you've been exposed. If you get a tie, you've been exposed. Hell...if you're considered a top 10 p4p guy, and you win but it goes the distance you've been exposed. It's a ****ing joke.

As far as the term goes, from what I saw, the little Charlo got exposed a little in the sense that Harrison knew he would be head hunting, so he got slick, tightened up his defense and was hitting him with counters. Doesn't mean he's a bad fighter, just means he needs to go back to the drawing board and train hard before he thinks of stepping to Hurd.

I'm not larry. you have your posters mixed up lol.

I thought JMW charlo won by more than MW charlo did. JMW charlo should've gone to the body more instead of the one dimensional attack but I still thought he won.

I am shocked that people are still trying to make excuses for the Charlo's. Just accept they both got exposed. It really makes a person look dumb, trying to defend the indefensible.

Yeah ofc styles make fights but all of the things I said were facts that make a great impact on your performance. He fought 1 time in 2018 vs a scrub and his last fight before that was in 2016. And to me he did gas...he was winning almost all the rounds in the first half. Then slowed down in the 2nd half. So to me it was evident that he only prepared for eight rounds. Would be interesting to see this fight with Korobov having a full camp and preparing for 12 hard rounds.

                    2018-12-22 Korobov fights Jermall Charlo
Korobov also fought in 2018 once...six rounds
Before that Korobov latest fight was 2016-11-18

He only fought six rounds in 2 years before fighting Charlo: Fact
