Coming up the ranks, NO one had Charlo rated higher than Harrison. It was Harrison who was highly touted 154 pound prospect, NOT Charlo. He has the better amateur pedigree and has a high skill set. His issues in losses has been just falling apart late in fights. So he adjusted and started pacing himself better. But then when you look at the fact he is a highly skilled boxer and Jermell has shown in the past he struggles against those slick fighters who can move, I just didn't see how this wouldn't be a competitive fight. Charlo despite those back to back to back stoppages, is NOT a great puncher. He's an explosive puncher for sure, especially when he sits down on his shots, but he's not a killer. Tell me a fight Charlo just broke his opponent down and got the stoppage? Hasn't happened. His stoppages come from landing that big shot to hurt his opponent and then just ending it there. And he almost did that late in the fight, but props to Harrison for holding up.

Does he deserve a Detroit hometown fight against Charlo? I'm not sure, not like this fight was in Houston or anything, ya know? It was in Brooklyn. But if you are to build to Hurd/Charlo or even Hurd/Harrison II, it makes sense to put them on one card. None of them are huge names so build the future fight properly.
I agree with putting guys on the same card for building the fight, it also builds Harrison/Hurd II if Charlo loses.

And I agree with you 100% but again, there are enough casual fans who buy into the machine and just see 31-0 >> 26-2 because to them all wins are created equal. Harrison doesn't have the promotion that Charlo does.

For sure, and to be fair it was on Harrison to show he can come up big in fights like this one. But stylistically this was always going to be a good competitive fight. Now, saying that, I still had Charlo winning 8-4 and have a hard time seeing how Harrison won 7 rounds. Still, that's to take nothing away from his performance as it was good nonetheless.

The thing with Harrison is, he's only 28 years old. So he's still in his prime and young so he had time to improve and turn everything around. Got stopped when he was what 25 years old to Nelson? Hey, it happens especially when you get careless. Then no shame at all losing to Hurd in a fight he was controlling in the first half. He's a handful for anyone. And guess what? So is JRock. So it is far from a forgone conclusion we get Charlo/Hurd. But so be it if Harrison wins the rematch or JRock beats Hurd. It also is why you shouldn't be marinating match ups in such a competitive division like 154. Strike when the iron is hot!

        Harrison was given a title...........

Harrison is a talented fighter with a lot of pride and I take nothing from him as he has had enjoyable fights to watch win, lose or draw. However he clearly fought to survive and didn't win this fight against Jermell Charlo. Charlo head hunted a lot and didn't go to the body at all which he needs to improve on in the next fight. Harrison needs to be more active and put it all on the line. This fight needs to be changed to no contest and may the actual best man win in the rematch.

You didn't see Harrison vs Hurd, you have no clue.... Harrison has some of the best skills at 154, stamina has been his problem. And he lost this fight...

It's good that he wants to rematch the man and try to win, but to suggest he handled this situation well at all or has a good head on himself is not only incorrect. it's also misinformed. Please seek mental health counsel as you are deluded and possibly dangerous to yourself and/or others
I'm not talking about leading up to the fight, after the fight Charlo showed the right attitude to have. The only one who needs mental help is someone who suggests it after a person makes a statement about a fighter's frame of mind. There is NOTHING wrong with a man crying. And spend your whole life since you were a child chasing a dream and have it taken from you like he felt on Saturday and you'll cry like a baby. Men who can cry are secure with expressing their emotions. Sit down, child.

Claressa Shields, Tony Harrison, Joey Spencer and the Dirrell brothers would provide enough notoriety to bring a show to Detroit
Charlo doesnt have a belt and isnt called champion. Harrison is his daddy.
