Does AJ have an underrated chin?

How good the chin is really a moot point. How a fighter recovers from being hurt is more important. Joshua both times he was rocked recovered well enough to take over later in the fight. Joshua also continued taking flush shots after being down against Wlad. That shows toughness and heart.
Against Whyte, he was completely dominating before getting caught with that hook. Then Whyte had moments in the next round before he proceeded to get beat pillar to post the rest of the way. Same thing will happen in the rematch.
So I don't know if his chin is underrated or not, but he certainly has the toughness and heart that you need against these big hitters at HW.Comment

Relatively untested, but so it Wilders chin.
Fury got good powers of recovery.Comment

His chin is far from bad. He’s not got a Vitali like chin but he definitely has some punch resilience as shown in the Whyte/Povetkin/Wlad fights.Comment

His lack of stamina is the issue, cause he’s an explosive fighter he burns a lot of energy very quickly and that is when he becomes vulnerableI don't think his chin is great, but his defense can be a bit underrated. Not always easy to catch clean. Not saying he has a great slick defense, but he's effective.
The problem is that when he's hurt, he stays hurt for a long time. Once Wlad hurt him, it took him rounds to get through it. Same as when Dillian Whyte hurt him. Wlad couldn't pull the trigger to finish the job, and Whyte didn't have the composure (and was carrying a shoulder injury).
I don't think his chin is great, the few times he's been caught hard in his career, he was hurt. Some better finishers might've finished him off.
If i was a fan, i'd be more concerned with his recovery time than his chin.Comment
