I thoroughly enjoyed both the fights. Couldn't care less about the heavyweight fight, both them dudes stink of S H I T.

Casuals come for the action, they dont give a fk about the scoring.
They'll forget about it by Monday while we argue about it for a month lol

Good , fight that should've ended in 4th rounds both when 12, and got an upset too

Entertainment is what you want and I would say they delivered that

Controversy is actually not a bad thing, it keeps people talking actually just like Wilder vs Fury still have people talking only people who threaten to stop watching because of controversial decisions is us the Hardcore fans which is usually just us being overly emotional

I remember the first ESPN Top Rank card was Manny vs Horn and Pac was jobbed.
Bad showing. First fight was mediocre. Breazeale looked terrible against a mediocre opponent. A guy who moves as stiffly as Negron should not have been able to hit Breazeale so often. The KO at the end saved Breazeale but if they were hoping to develop him into a legitimate big fight alternative to Fury/Joshua then Breazeale failed miserably. Breazeale has nothing more than a punchers chance against Wilder. Mismatch city.

The Charlo/Harrison fight had its moments but Harrison in my opinion was too gun shy. The terrible decision leaves a lot of casual fans looking skeptically at the sport. Totally deflates any momentum for a Hurd/Charlo matchup.

Jermall Charlo's fight with Korborov looked good from what I saw. Only saw the last 3 rounds because I was on the phone. It was a more competitive fight than it should have been but I'll give Charlo a mulligan on this one. He was preparing for a waaaaaaaaaaaay different style of fighter. He closed the show strong though.

Jermall underperformed. Now could that be because his bros loss was fresh on his mind? Maybe. Because he definitely didn't start off well but came on late.

I think you gotta give Jermall a break. Matt Korborov is a much different type of boxer than Willie Monroe. Its a big shift in game planning and prep on such short notice. I think with more prep he gets the guy out of there. As it is he almost had him in the 12th.

The judges are out of the control of PBC, as much as folks get in their feelings about it, so let's set that aside for now.

Outside of the dead space for auditory curse words (I get it, but it still sucks), the show was really good imo.

Kenny Albert is a more than solid play-by-play guy, Joe Goosen is a ****ing revelation as a color guy, and Lennox Lewis was far better tonight than I remember him being on HBO (in a similar way to what made Foreman effective for HBO, Lewis focused on speaking up when he had something to actually say, kept quiet mostly when he didn't, and actually meshed well with the team). Chris (last name escapes me) and "Boom Boom" were insightful as hosts, and Kate Abdo did a good job with the interviews and the post fight.

Eliminate the earlier glitch at the start of Breazeale-Negron (could've also made the sound a bit clearer for the ring walks, as a nitpick), and you'd have a great debut card.

A professional setup, with the announcers calling the fight fair, is all you can really ask for to start. A big one-punch heavyweight KO to save a title shot, a good fight that ended up going the wrong way, and a good fight, with a strong finish, that ended up wider than folks thought (with the announcers being honest the hole time) shouldn't have turned away anyone, especially a fan that's new to the sport.

You add that you now have a name fighter in Keith Thurman to talk up for the next show, plus another good heavyweight fight (if FOX were smart, they take that third fight slot and split it into a 6-round showcase of Efe Ajagba and a 6-round showcase for Joey Spencer), and the momentum should keep moving along.

Korobov is pretty good too; amateur pedigree, only loss coming when he got caught in a fight he was winning, Charlo not being confident in facing southpaws, etc.

You add that he's been in the gym ready to fight, and was already in shape and on weights to fight on the same date anyway, folks exexpecting a blowout of a late sub who'd been sitting on the couch were mistaken.

Good fights for boxing fans in general. If your big charlo fans or work for PBC then you might think differently, bad score cards and even worse commentary (very biased). Wilder destroys Breazeale btw...
