Korobov was really hyped when he first turned pro, big things were expected, i remember watching some of his early fights on undercards, i remember him on the Manny v Hatton undercard and they were expecting him to be the next big thing.
His career never really took off, i dunno what it was. Mismanaged maybe and he always had large spells of inactivity for an upcoming fighter. His career always seemed very stop-start with no momentum.
You can see why Peter Quillen ducked him.Comment

Korobov has always been good. His stamina, chin and power have been a problem for him in the pros but he was alway technically sound. Charlo put on a very poor performance too. I haven't decided yet if this fight tells more about Jermall or about Korobov. Trout, another southpaw landed the same straight let hand Korobov landed all night and lost a very close 115-113.Comment
