    I meant "Great White Hope" as in an All American United States born White Skinned fighter ready to conquer the entire sport of Boxing. Not white Europeans or Eastern European fighters.

          Being labled a "great white hope" doesn't usually end well for the fighter......Gerry Cooney and Jerry Quarry come to mind.
