You guys ever USED to be a fan until you met that fighter in person?

    Lets hear some stories.

For me it would probably be Ward. I was big fan of him from the Olympics to his debut and as he climbed the ranks and even into the Super Middleweight Tournament.

I met him at one of the HBO fights he kinda just gives everyone that weird look like who are you? Do I know you with that 1/2 smirk 1/2 mad dog.

He was cool at first but then a few guys around me started saying S.O.G. and he wasn't sure if they were being sincere or not so he kinda assumed they were mocking him and thought they were with me so he started just walking away right in the middle of our convo. Like WTF really? I get it he doest owe any of us anything not even chit chat, but he came across as a real sensitive, insecure man that night.

After that I heard other fans all kind of had the same complaints about him. Most say he doesn't take criticism well or anything that remotely sounds like it.

I just stopped being a fan of his pretty much that night and hearing everyone else have the same similar issues with him.

I actually wanted Kovalev to KO him. I think Kovalev definitely beat him in the first fight.

All the fighters I have met have been real cool. Spence was real quiet when I met him, I think he was trying to figure out who I was cause he signed a couple autographs then the same woman asked me to sign her poster as well . My opinion of Porter has changed a bit. Real cool dude in person but this not wanting to get in there with Spence thing has showed me maybe he isn't down to fight anybody. He'll sit there and talk to you all day though. I haven't seen Ward at any fights though, which is weird cause I've gone to fights in Cali

Yeah bro I was let down by Ward but when I saw lot of others have the same experience with him I was like OK. Lot of boxing writers say there same thing about him as well so I'm like ok guess it wasn't just me then.

I never met Porter but he seems like a real down to earth guy.

I saw Spence at a fight but this was right before the Olympics so NO ONE except for the really hard core fans even knew who he was. I can't really base anything off of that experience. But I guess he just was happy to be there that night.

I met AB when he first started blowing up after the PDL fight he didnt act that bad in front of us.

I met Devon Alexander right after the Bradley fight and he was a D-Bag. I mean I know it was his first loss but I basically said man I had you in that fight bro you'll bounce back in no time champ and he acted like he didnt even want to hear it lol. So after that I was like F Alexander.

Bradley was mad cool tho very humble likable guy.

I met Jimmy Thunder when he was down & out in Las Vegas.
Made me sad, but didn't change how I felt about what he did in the ring.

Surprised about Alexander, maybe he just wanted you to keep your distance so you didn't run into his forehead

I've met a lot of fighters since I refuse to get anything but floor seats when I go to fights and they are always cool by the ring talking to fans. Trainers I have met are cool as heck too. By far the coolest cat I've met had to be Sam Watson. I know he meets tons of people but will act like he's known you forever when you meet him. Won't hesitate to give out his number and try to hook you up if you're going to fights. My wife was a bit taken back like "who is this fool" when I met him and talked for awhile and he reached out and gave my wife a hug .

GGG will take pics with everybody and talk for a bit even though his English isn't great
Chad Dawson seemed kind of scary around fans but I think that's just the kind of guy he is
Paulie is cool and will talk boxing forever and even clown around

Thats awesome bro! back when I was a GM I used to drop for floor seats too. its crazy because I remember getting ringside for Mosley vs Mora at Staples Center and it was only like $400 each for ringside.

Then for the Wilder Fury fight also at Staples it was like a few G's for the same damn seat lol. I know Mosley vs Mora was like 8 years ago but still.

I never met GGG thats cool that he was like that. Never met Chad, but yeah he dont look like he would want to meet fans.

Thats cool that Sam Watson is like that I guess he has to be since he's the opposite of Al always hiding in the shadows right?

I remember seeing the twins getting bottle service at the club after one of the fights. I was thinking these kids can afford bottle service? So they must be making good money not just their Dad? LOL

Met old George Foreman at the London Arena. He was hes cuddly self at the workout but when i went backstage for him to sign my pic he had a very different aura and the people around him seemed very intimidated by him. He's still pretty menacing i think, although im still a fan, he was ok with me. Maybe someone had pisssed him off.

I've spoke briefly with a few. Bellew, Fielding were cool. As was Kahn, he was chatty.

I saw Katsidis in Vegas at the Berto/Mosley press confrence and he was friendly. Haye was there too but i noticed he was ignoring a couple of lads a few yards away who were talking to him. They all had Hayemaker t-shirts on and were obviously from England..so that was a shame.

People forget George was a BAD BAD MAN in his prime! As much as I love Tyson I say prime George would KO Tyson he was just from a much more tougher breed of heavyweight champions era.

I saw George at one of the Klitschko fights he was taking pics with fans but this could be because the cameras were rolling around him lol.

I did hear similar things that you said how fans bumped into George randomly with no cameras around and he was very mean lol.

I met Haye when he was starting to blow up here stateside. This was before he beat that big giant(forget his name) for that title.

Haye was happy that I recognized him because he was just sitting down with 2 other people and everyone just walked by. So in the USA most folks didnt even know who he was yet. We asked him for a pic he said sure. I was with a bad arse chick tho that weekend with huge knockers so that might of been why he was cool with us lol.
