You’ll never see anyone with a better Gazelle punch than Floyd Patterson though. It’s like how you’ll never see a better overhand right than from Tim Witherspoon.
Yeah Floyd flew far with that. Did he ever get a chance vs Liston, or feared a ko in mid-air.

I woulda thought SRR did it, but maybe was no need.

SRR May have. There’s so little tape of him in his prime.

And I don’t think Floyd really had much of a chance to throw anything at Sonny lol

Actually I saw 1 good hard punch from Floyd land, but not much effect. IIRC Sonny was throwing at the same time. Floyd's may have got there 1st, but Liston's had him in trouble.

Trinidad had incredible power in his left hook. The accusations of his power coming from illegal hand wraps are totally false. He was never fined or punished for illegal wraps because he never used them and didn't need to. He was a natural puncher with both hands and he was left handed. His left hook was as hard PFP as that of any great left hooker. He threw the left hook with great speed and put lots of weight behind it. Sonny Liston was also left handed and had a vicious left hook. Jose Napoles the Cuban boxer who moved to Mexico and was the welterweight champion for many years had a great left hook. These are just a few of many boxers with a great left hook. GGG, Canelo and Davis all have great left hooks. There are just too many good left hookers to name them all. It's a very important punch and most good champions have a good left hook.

I know RJJ, Frazier, Floyd Patterson.
            Who else? Past and present.
David Tua. Check out the Ruiz knockout. Crazy leaping left.

              Thanks.
I rewatched it and it looks like he leapt, not high above ground, but a quick leap nonetheless.
No one covered as much distance I think like Floyd P.

Nonito Donaire's left hand was vicious. He would come off the ground and shoot it unconvenntionally sometimes. He was a pleasure to watch in his prime.
