Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Canelo Showed That He Can Fight at 160 or 168

Canelo, whose first professional title came at junior middleweight, went into his first fight at 168lbs as the favourite, despite the fact he was fighting 14-pounds and two divisions above where he first established himself. The 28-year-old Mexican wasted no time in giving his opponent a taste of what was to come, bruising Fielding's ribs with a huge body shot and sending him to the mat in the first round.

Step up to the plate again after having fought GGG twice, it's time for Canelo vs Charlo.

He showed he can successfully cherry pick from 160 to 168!
Cut the bull**** "Oscar de la Weirdo" and make the Charlo fight!

If he manages to take it to the cards in Vegas I don't doubt he can rule the HW division.

Back in reality where judges don't matter, he has been a middleweight for many years and will probably remain one. He just circumvented having to regularly fight middleweights via catchweight crap.

Yes, elite 160 guy beats 168 paper champ. No surprise about that.

beating Rocky Fielding proves he can fight at 168 about as much as beating Chavez Jr. did.

Canelo vs. Zurdo on May 4th? Could Oscar (DAZN) and Bob (ESPN) do what Bob and Al (PBC) can't? Could be worth it!
