I'm just pointing out the fact that one fighter's team merely talked about fighting from 154 to 168...while Alvarez actually went out and did it.
I mean he had a year between the GGG fights, and quite a few soft outings before that. If you are fighting once a year, you can't really say "but but but, my last fight was a hard one too."

What this was, was an exhibition, where Canelo didn't want to have to bother making weight.

Lets not pretend its something else, or some foray into 168 for his legacy.

Kills me with these floyd/haymon fanatics.
Don't twist it. Canelo fought more people than just Fielding, there was Trout/Lara/Mosley/Mayweather/Chavez Jr etc.

Golovkin never did it. Against the quality of a Fielding or anybody else.

If you have to use Chavez Jr, you know you are stretching.

Canelo has fought people from 154 to 168.

            Golovkin hasn't.

            Those are just the facts.

Mosley was a huge cherrypick. We were all screaming it at the time. You don’t get to use Mosley to prop up Canelo’s resume.

Also, I’d pick out the Lara decision, but you listed Chavez Jr. as something worthwhile on a resume lol

Sure, let's pretend it's the same thing. Canelo taking a tuneup against a bum with a 'belt' at 168 is the same as Golovkin calling out anyone from 154-168 in 2013 after his first fight on US TV.

Let's call a spade a spade. Canelo took a stay busy fight, it just happened to be at 168. Before you make a thread like this, wait for him to actually fight someone decent at the weight.

And let me guess, your explanation didn't involve calling out Team Golovkin for counting defenses of the "regular" belt towards the record?

I didn't realize that Chavez Jr. would be acceptable for Golovkin's resume but not for Canelo's.

Seeing as how Golovkin was dying to fight Chavez Jr. at one point and all his fans were on board.
