Comments Thread For: Tevin Farmer Retains IBF Title, Decisions Francisco Fonseca

NEW YORK Tevin Farmer's fight Saturday night wasn't nearly as easy as his first title defense. Eight weeks after tearing through James Tennyson, Farmer fought toe-to-toe with Francisco Fonseca throughout their 12-round bout. Neither fighter appeared to hurt his opponent, but Farmer was the busier, more accurate puncher and won a unanimous decision on the Canelo Alvarez-Rocky Fielding undercard at Madison Square Garden....

Fonseca was a tough opponent, just like he made Davis look bad before Tank hit him in the back of the head. Hard to guage what a Farmer/Davis match would look like based on this fight and how Tank's fight with the Costa Rican unfolded. If Gervonta came in top form, I'd favor him but who knows if that would happen.

Farmer won all the rounds, even if some of his work was sloppy in the middle rounds

Commentators and judges were favoring Farmer even if he was totally outworked by Fonseca

Second consecutive weekend where a fighter that goes the full 12, was previously KO'd by Tank in the 8th! Coincidence?
