Khan was beating a PED cheating Canelo, going up 2 divisions and without even taking a tune-up at middleweight! Imagine if Khan had taken a few tune ups first and Canelo wasn't on PEDs - it's highly likely that Khan would have beaten Canelo fairly convincingly in that scenario, like an 8-4 UD.

Canelo has improved a lot since those days yet Khan was still beating him while Canelo was on PEDs, had a significant weight advantage and without Khan even taking a tune up at middleweight. It's probable that only that version of Canelo on PEDs with a significant weight advantage would ever have any real shot against Khan.

Put in to real perspective Fielding would knock Khan out in a round without working up a sweat but unlike Khan Canelo has a solid jaw and I'm pretty sure he'll take what ever Fielding has to offer.

I can't really say convincingly if Canelo has improved. I want to see him fight guys who are as fast or faster than him. He had problems with Khan until that fight was stopped, he was thoroughly outboxed by Mayweather and had plenty problems against Lara. Talented Fighters who I consider fleet footed or quick handed. Instead, Canelo has chosen to fight guys like Fielding, Chavez Jr, GGG and Liam Smith who are arguably the slowest boxers at Jr middle and middleweight. From a stylistic standpoint, Fighting Jacobs, Charlo or even BJS would be considered a step up from what he's use to fighting. Maybe that's the reason why he's fighting Fielding and contemplating fighting Lemieux next, these guys pose no real threat to his style and are glorified B fighters at best.

Canelo has come miles since Mayweather,smith ect, but he needs to be fighting the best likes of charlo,jacobs an maybe a couple more.my opinion is he is only taking this fight for a belt cause he is looking past rockeyf. FACT

Khan won some early rounds but Canelo adjusted and was outboxing Khan, winning rounds on points. That KO punch was not just a hail mary either, it was setup nicely with a feint low and timed perfectly.

Charlo and jacobs are good fights, but as far as speed, canelo is pretty fast and there isnt really anyone faster than him out there.
