Canelo fans hate to hear the truth. Theyre an emotional bunch of simpletons who refuse to see the truth. That truth is, Canelo has not faced a top fighter in their prime in over 4 yrs. Right now his weight class is flooded with talent and guys in their primes and it doesn't look like he wants any smoke any time soon. Lemieux is on deck for may despite not making weight which is why Canelo commented yesterday that he could fight anywhere from 160 to 168.

Golovkin selects a inactive JMW who was coming off a loss, and the fans and media make silly excuses..... Canelo selects a active SMW coming off a win and the fans and media lay an egg
Didn't Golovkin grab a last minute opponent because the guy he was supposed to fight got busted for PEDs?

there are a lot of fights at 160-168 we would love to see canelo fight but we know we will never see them, that's just the truth. why is that? he has the best resume of active fighters I think... but hes never beat any of his top opponents decisively imo

The hate and criticism comes with the price of being the face of boxing.
Canelo could fight and knock out Jacobs, Charlo and Andrade, and people will find something about the fight to complain about.

The contract he got says he must face the elite.

He wont. And DAZN is finished by Jan. 2020

He JUST fought GGG. Two months ago..........

He will again be fighting someone in May.

This fight is hurting NO ONE. He could have sat out til May and just not fought at all and no one would have bat an eye. Instead he squeezes in an extra fight and payday. Good for him.

Canelo started off as a coddled fighter. Then he fought quite a few fights that were tough. Showing balls. Then he kinda let off the gas. Then he fought more nut hanging fights.

Now he is off the gas again. Par for the course for his career and i see nothing wrong with it. His resume is better than anyone else’s at 154/160. Nobody (should be expected to have) fights with killers every time out. Fans asked for Golovkin. He gave it to them. Twice. Let him enjoy his career for a couple fights and see where he is. He’s earned it.

I agree with the resume statement. However, he has continued to fight top fighters and fights despite the fact that the outcome in those fights are always close.

I lost respect for Alvarez when he fought Khan. But he has fought Golovkin twice, back to back, and that respect is restored in my book. They guy will fight top fighters. He’s proved it.

I imagine Jacobs will he first because he is the oldest of the crop of top middleweights and I can see Alvarez trying to get opponents to age a bit. But after that, If he wins, the rest are young guys. And I think Canelo will fight them as long as he keeps winning.
