What was AJ thinking on first take??

I was watching his interview on first take today and I was really rooting for him to step away from Hearn’s, Matchroom’s and Sky’s narrative and be like “I’m a fighter, I want to fight the best, I want to prove I’m the best therefore I want Fury, Wilder etc any place, anytime, anywhere. Let’s make it happen”. Just show some intent, forget all the politics, stipulations etc just say “I WANT THESE FIGHTS!”

But instead we got this same BULLSH** narrative of...
It has to be April 13th, in London, on my terms and if they don’t bend over backwards in negotiations then that means they don’t want the fight. I have more belts... blah blah blah... Zzzzz...
And then he goes to say Fury is irrelevant because he doesn’t have a belt, and then absurdly claims the Lineal title has no value but the IBO belt does. For gods sake!! Is this guy that ******? Or is he being told to say this? Who would actually buy into this narrative? You could even see Max Kellerman looking at him like “really???”.
It was just embarrassing, not just for him but for all us British boxing fans.

AJ had a fantastic platform to make a statement of intent in the US and he completely FAILED to do so. I’m really disappointed in AJ today, I’ve always maintained that he actually wants the best fights but his team is preventing them. I’m starting to question that now...

You mean you weren’t happy he is theA side and telling wilder to know his role and get on the plane if he wants to the fight the main man in the division .

Sorry lil wilder fan boy but get in the queue.

I thought he came across really well; and very consistent with all his interviews. He doesn’t get involved in the same stuff like most boxing fans which is what has helped build his fame in the uk and makes him so marketable

Not a Wilder fan whatsoever, you moron. I’m a boxing fan. And it was embarrassing seeing a supposed “champion” hiding behind belts and not wanting to fight the BEST cause they don’t have “NO TITLES”.
      Embarrassing...

It’s a bigger fight over here 100%. It’s not a bigger fight globally.

Yup. And that's why he's in New York on Canelo-Fielding fightweek trying to raise his U.S. profile.

I disagree. IMO Wilder has no fans. Ppv only sold 300k. I think his stock and credibility plummeted hard after the fury fight to. I think Joshua vs Fury does bigger gate & wayyyyy more PPV’s... I know as an American I’m 10x more interested in Joshua vs Fury compared to Joshua wilder.

325k at 75$ buys still translates into 24 million USD.
Plus whatever UK buys it done.
The rematch likely does much better and if it goes to Vegas you get even more revenue streams and the live gate rises dramatically.

Fury-Joshua would likely only be PPV in the UK due to time, US interest etc. Whilst either against Wilder would likely be PPV in both.
