Guillermo Jones OUT vs. Cunningham saturday

World class cruiserweight contender Guillermo Jones has been forced to pull out of this Saturday's Showtime Championship Boxing co-feature Vs. undefeated Steve Cunningham for the vacant IBF title. Unsure of the exact reason of the pull-out but we have spoken with former WBC cruiserweight champion Wayne "Big Truck" Braithwaite, whom DKP offered the fight to yesterday afternoon.

Oh man this sucks for Steve. He's been waiting for this fight since Bell ducked him in January.

Why doesn't Bell say to hell with Byrd and fight Cunningham in a couple months?

That would be awesome if Braithwaite suddenly got his game together and beat Cunningham and got a fight with Bell. I really like Braithwaite and hated to see him get manhandled by Mormeck and Jones last year. Very sad.

Because he has no interest in defending his titles agaisnt top Cruiserweights.

He clearly is only interested in getting big paydays.

He already gave up the IBF title to NOT face Steve.

I've never been a big fan of the money hungry B.S. Look what it did to Tarver after all. He could have fought a lot of light heavyweight opponents, beat the other champs, etc, but no, he had to go for Hopkins and Tyson because all he wanted was $$$. Bell has no excuse at all for that kind of mentality because he isn't an old fighter at all. I say stay in your class and defend against the top legit contenders until there are no good ones left, then move up or down and get mega-fights. Bell beat Mormeck and started thinking heavyweights right away. Hell, Mormeck was going to do the same thing until he lost to Bell. So much for the cruiserweight division being saved.

I became a big Braithwaite fan after that fight with Azille where they slugged it out. That was a fun fight, and I thought Braithwaite would get Mormeck much like Bell did.

Isn't this the second time the fight has been called off? Jones destroyed Big Truck - I'm not looking forward to this fight as much...
