I don't think he capable of pulling off either strategy. Brook is a good fighter he has quick hands and decent power w nice combinations.

His problem is that he admires his work too much and sticks around too long. Doesn't seem to have the quickness in his feet that he does with his hands. And when he does get on his bike he's already hurt and still easy to hit.

Hurd is a nightmare for Brook pre and post GGG thrashing
Yeah good assessment of Brook. I was a big fan, but you're right, his feet aren't as quick as his hands, and his defence is leaky. He's always had those weaknesses. The truth is that's always been the flaw with the low hands Ingle style. It looks brilliant against someone who isn't as fast or as good as you, but good opponents will hit you.
Roy Jones got away with a similar defensive style at his peak, relying chiefly on lightening quick reactions with his chin in the air, but as soon as they started to deteriorate a little, he was there to be hit, as Tarver showed.

Brendan Ingle used to say Ryan Rhodes would be as good as Hamed, but Hamed was a one off, Rhodes had the same leaky defence and got stopped a couple of times when he was tipped for world titles.

So when did Hurd rise to god status? Is there something I'm missing here? Kell Brook definitely can beat Hurd. I'm not saying he will, but he definitely has the ability to. Harrison outxboxed Hurd. Trout Outboxed Hurd. Lara Outboxed Hurd. The only thing Hurd has going is an iron chin and constant pressure.
If Kell can box anywhere near he did against Porter, I can see him putting a beating on Hurd. The only question I have is if his face will hold up or if he will gas afted 6 rounds. If he does, then all bets are off...

With his new trainer, there's no way he can replicate his performance when he beat Porter imo. His new guy was saying he put in a masterclass after Zerafa, when he got hit far too much. He seems like he's way put of his depth, poor choice by Brook for me.

Spot on If Kell wants to continue fighting he needs a trainer thats gonna tighten up that leaky defense of his. His reflexes just arent quick enough for that hands down style and its definitely the wrong approach to take against a guy with a reach like Hurd. & what I noticed about Kell is that he becomes an easier target when he's hurt, he becomes even less defensive.

I could see him lighting Hurd up with combos for the 1st 6 rounds and then Hurd beating him into submission in the 2nd half

Eddie Hearn basically confirming he has Nothing for Kell if Khan doesn't agree to fight

Hurd Punishes and retires Brook! He doesn't have the defense or head movement to hold up against Hurd activity. He did not look good in his recent fight vs a bigger guy

Realistically? I think Eddie might have to throw him in with Jesse Vargas at a catch weight OR wait for the winner of Lara vs Castano who are actually 154 fighters closer to his size

Yeah similar to the GGG fight. Brook's offence is a lot better than his defence. Like I said it's the flaw in the Ingle style, top fighters will find the target. Brook does get even even more ragged when he gets caught and put under pressure too.
He did keep it tight against Porter and didn't get hit cleanly much, I don't think he can replicate that performance with his new trainer though, he seems amateurish and out of his depth, poor choice for Brook.
