Sadly, us fans who have been around for a while know that in all probability - any serious unification fights are a ways off.
Gvozdyk just clinched his belt 5 mins ago, and we don't know (at least I don't) if there is a rematch clause with Stevenson.
Alvarez still has to take care of his rematch with Kovalev, and if he gets through that, I doubt he'll be looking for unification battles straight away.
The only other player left is Beterbiev, who might be interested, but I thought was still battling to get out of his contract, and just came through a testing fight with Callum Johnson.

I like Bivol, he has a good attitude, stays busy enough, and slowly seems to be working his way up to a real 50-50 fight. He's also been saying he wants to unify for some time now, almost as soon as he won the WBA version of the 175-pound title.

There is also some decent depth in this division with some tough contenders, journeymen etc. Would like to see Bivol square off against Badou Jack, Smith Jr, Browne, Callum Johnson showed some mustard against Beterbiev and could be a future threat.
Then there are of course some promising prospects nearing their time to step up and take the litmus test like Yarde, Buatsi, etc.

Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Bivol. Any of them fighting each other is fine with me. Less cans... more champs unifying. The sooner the better.

I favour Gvozdyk over Bivol right now

I have every reason to believe that Bivol will fight these guys, he is young and has already fought some good fighters. He is a very respectful guy and by too soon I believe he is referring to talking lots about a potential opponent who he hasn't even had talks with. He doesn't strike me as the type of guy to blindly throw names out but he will get in their and fight when contracts are sorted.
