No doubt. I'm a fan of Hearn & think he's the best promoter in the game right now, but he's losing points left & right with some of the dumb games he's playing & some of the dumb things he's saying.

I want the old Eddie back who wasn't overly consumed with all this Joshua Project bs.

Wilder has just devalued that WBC belt . Even if Joshua smashed Wilder in 2 rounds and became Undisputed champion there is a gypsie that has never been beat in the ring.

What Fury did is what fighters do to Wilder on a regular until he catches them. He is there to be outboxed. Wilder is a brother so I won’t go all in but what is this someone that can’t box we give a new term for it.... Awkward? Fury is Awkward. Wilder is just Looks awkward. He has crazy crazy power which makes him dangerous but he is very limited. He doesn’t even use his god given athleticism to his advantage. Fights the pace of every fighter who outweigh him by 50 lbs
I disagree with you and here's why: Wilder fans will buy based on hoping Deontay somehow is better at not telegraphing his punches. The already know he can hurt Fury and that just a few more well connected shots would definitely end the fight by KO. On the other hand Fury fans buy the fight knowing that Fury can outbox Wilder and they will believe he will not make the same mistakes he did in the first fight. They will also feel that the judges will be fairer in the rematch. So there will be a lot of anticipation and intrigue for the rematch.

Spot on. Everything that fans on both sides thought pre-fight were confirmed and more importantly, we can now get past all the Fury is washed up talks. He clearly proved he is still damn good and pretty much the same fighter he was before his 2.5 year hiatus.

I don't see how there can't be intrigue after the way the fight ended. Wilder got two KDs in the second half of the fight showing his power carries late and he is ever dangerous regardless of how bad he is getting out boxed. Fury showed his supreme boxing ability and heart by getting up from the 12th round KD. Feel like the opinion of some Brits is not reality from those that watched the fight stateside, especially the casuals who really dig'd it.

Now there has been something else put in place for Wilder to be guaranteed a two fight deal with Joshua which means he would make at least 30 million to fight Joshua twice...much more than he has made to fight anyone else...

Oh and about the PPV thing...last I checked the way that PPV revenue works is that the network takes 10% off top and the remaining 90% is split in half between the cable providers and the promoter(s).

So if that is the case, if we rounded up the Wilder-Fury PPV to $80, Showtime would have took $8 x 325000 = 2.6 mil while the cable providers and Queensbury/Haymon would get 11.7 million each.

Divide that 11.7 million in half and that is what each fighter would have received in PPV revenue. So in Wilder's case if he got a base salary of 4 million and then a PPV backend of 5.85 million, he would have received a total of 9.85 million for the Fury fight. So in essence he got a shade below that figure.

Still a good amount lower than he would have received if he fought Joshua.
You need to add other revenue streams to your calculations like Live gate receipts and non-USA PPV revenue. $14 million for Wilder and $10 million for Fury is not an unreasonable estimate.

Cmon I know this. It’s a great match I can’t hate. First fight was great. Second fight may be even better. However I don’t want to be outside looking in. Time for my boy to fight and knockout or get knocked out by Wilder or Fury. I don’t have a contract with these boxers I feel AJ is the best if someone proves me otherwise and knocks him out I will jump ship just like what I did when I used to support Whyte and AJ knocked him out

Hearn is offering Wilder 35% of the PPV money. That will be 35% of the UK/US money. That's way beyond what Wilder is worth. After the Fury rematch is done (If he were to win) he'll be going back to making crumbs. No one else out there will have Americans paying that kind of money for dud fights regardless of how crazy you are.
If Wilder defeats Fury in the rematch or it is close again, why can't the Joshua/Wilder fight still happen? The Fury, Wilder rematch isn't the end is it?

After the guarantee to Fury and Wilder of 3/4 Mill, they needed to get 250,000 PPV buys just to break even. I think you can work out the rest.
You could if US PPVs were all that need to be considered. Of course you would have to leave out live gate and non-US PPVS.

Live gate was around 3.5 million. Still waiting on what the non-USA PPV number.

If Wilder gets half of the gate then he would be around 11 million. Still a chance to reach 14 mil from UK PPV but I don't see it happening.
