No way the only place this fight can happen is Vegas in the US.

But the bigger money is probably in The UK.

I think Fury earned having the next one in his backyard.

Fight should be next year in the UK. Because let’s be honest Fury got jobbed on the last one.

Whether the fight itself will be exciting (obviously) remains to be seen, but there’s no denying that this is going to be a major event. Joshua vs. Klitschko is projected to be far and away the highest grossing fight in the history of British boxing. Both The Daily Star and The Mirror have pegged the gross revenue to be £42 million (approximately $53 million US), which would leave the previous record, the 2014 rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves, in the dust at £22 million. A lower estimate from The Daily Telegraph’s Gareth A. Davies has it at £30 million (Approx. $38 million US), with Joshua and Klitschko splitting £18 million in purse money. None of these fights is anywhere near Mayweather-Pacquiao, Lewis-Tyson, or several other high-profile boxing bouts staged in the US, but it’s still a pretty big number.

Here’s The Mirror’s breakdown of the figures that would lead to a £42 million fight:
      •1.5 million pay-per-views at £16.95, generating £25.4m
•£4m from German TV company RTL (Editor’s note: RTL is Klitschko’s television partner)
•£1.5m from US TV (Editor’s note: The bout will air on either HBO or Showtime, but not on PPV in the US)
•£8m in gate receipts from a record 90,000 crowd
      •£1m from sponsorship
•£1m from rest of the world TV rights
      •£1m from merchandising

      September 6, 2017:

Per the Score, the Money Fight sold 13,094 tickets producing a gate of $55.4 million. Promotional teams gave out 137 seats for free.

The T-Mobile Arena was configured to seat 17,698, so that means there were 4,467 unpurchased tickets for the fight.

The gate falls just under $17 million short of the record-setting 2015 bout between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, but it's still a strong second place ahead of Money's 2013 win over Canelo Alvarez. It produced a gate of just over $20 million.

The ticket prices for the Mayweather-McGregor fight ranged from $500 to $10,000.

8 Million "pounds" is only equal to $10, 050, 920 US Dollars! The "Money" fight was Mayweather vs. McGregor!
So what you’re saying is you guys pay 5 x more for the live gate and nearly three times as much for ppv

Do the casinos put up big money up front to host these big fights to make the live gate generate such big money though or is that all through sales ?

I don’t think that would work over here ... it’s still a working mans sport

Good info though cheers for the heads up

Fair's fare the return has to be in the UK next. Failing that how about a neutral continent?

That's exactly what I'm saying! And yes, the casinos play a large role because when those people are not at the fight, guess what they're doing? ********! High rollers love boxing, and Las Vegas loves the high-rollers! Don't be distracted by attendance numbers! They don't tell the whole story!

Let me start by saying that I had no dog in this fight and I always believed Fury to be a clumsy, unorthodox clown. With that being said Wilder would have had to win 4 other rounds besides the 9th and 12th to get the decision. Which 4 are we talking about? Watch the fight again and score it objectively. The 114-112 card to Fury was the closest to the truth.

A wilder fanboy that cant admit defeat. I wanted Wilder to win. He lost too many rounds, he needed a ko. He got lucky with a draw.

Exactly! I predicted Wilder to crush Fury. I was never impressed by Fury, even the win against Klitschko was a terrible fight. Much respect to Fury after all that he has been through. Would love to see a rematch. Wilder needs to set up the right hand better and he should get the win.

                    Fair comment

Still think they should do the rematch in the U.K. but if they can make more in Vegas it’s a no brainer

If I was in the fury camp I’d be pushing for a homecoming stadium fight ... I guess we will find out who the highest bidder is soon though

If these guys are going to continue to put their lives on the line, they deserve to get the most money possible.

A rematch in the UK would generate half the revenue that would be generated by a rematch in the US. US ticket prices are much higher and US PPV prices are much higher.

Why would either Wilder or Fury want the be earn half of what they could be earning for doing the rematch?
