Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury's Trainer Ben Davison - The Unlikely Hero

By Tris Dixon - TYSON FURY'S trainer Ben Davison is still reeling from what happened last weekend. His heavyweight was denied the fairytale return to the sport he craved when his WBC title thriller with Deontay Wilder was controversially adjudged a draw in Los Angeles. But it has left the division, and for that matter the sport, a more vibrant place. The big men are alive and kicking and the WBC this week ordered a rematch, though...

Well done Ben Davison. Got doubted, ridiculed and disrespected but handled himself very, very well. It's obvious be understands boxing and he's got a good head on his shoulders. I always thought that if Tyson is with him then it's for a reason and the chemistry they've got is clear to see. Top man.

If 'Bend Over Son' was any good he'd have gotten Fury the victory. Suck ass Brittanian peasant!

Ben proved me and many others wrong. I can see a lot of fighters wanting to work with him.

For me the jury is still out on Davidson, Fury is one of those fighters who doesn't really need much input from the corner, he can read the fight himself.

Now that's not to say Ben did anything wrong, but i'm not going to get carried away until i see him confirm this sort of form.

he did good on fight night...but he has to improve along with Tyson.. Wilder will be ready for fury's head ducking tactics..fury will have to adjust and probably will..compared to Tyson..Wilder has one boxing brain cell which is to swing hard

Honestly even if Wilder is "ready" for the head ducking tactics, what can he do, at the end of the day he was just too slow and innacurate to land 99% of the time anyway. I don't see that improving.

I agree though Fury should rustle up something different this time, I noticed he was clearly superior inside, i'd start there.

Feels like the choice was more to do with Davison 'getting' him than any boxing consideration. Fair play. He got Tyson back to the ring, and Tyson's given him a big career.

if he has a smart team..then they'll be working on roundhouse punches to hit fury whenever he ducks down..sort of like in the 9th round...but Wilder will need to follow it up with another shot if he wants to put fury down and out which he's going to miss 9/10 times

He did well, but it will be interesting to see how he works with other fights too.
