GGG Supposedly Meets with PBC/DAZN Without Loeffler

I mean I doubt it has to do with the signing bonus. Can his guarantees be higher on a long term deal? Sure, but freedom and more options for him trump all. Can fight Canelo on DAZN, can fight Zurdo on ESPN, or Hurd/Charlo/PBC 168 pounders on SHO/FOX PPV etc.Comment

Sure he helped in making his name a bit bigger but in the long run he didn’t do good for his fighterTom Loeffler wasn’t involved in meetings GGG had with PBC on Saturday and Eddie Hearn/John Skipper of DAZN on Tuesday. Loeffler doesn’t have Golovkin under contract; works with him on a fight-by-fight basis. Loeffler helped build Golovkin into a star in the U.S.

Interesting, very interesting. So there goes the claims of Loeffler using GGG to get dates for his other fighters. GGG is on this alone. Changes some things for sure. But honestly if he isn't going to use his name power to get Loeffler dates, why not just work with different networks on a fight to fight basis? Do what Marquez did and Cotto. Go where ever the big fight is at that present time.Comment

What I should have said is he thinks he's worth what Canelo got so he's trying to get someone to pay him handsomely over the next few years.
A guarantee of so many fights and so much money. I agree, it would be great if he jumped from one network to another but that won't happen.Comment

No doubt he probably wants a Canelo type of deal (Not 10 fights of course). He's not Canelo though and he will be disappointed if he expects to get that type of deal. But he is going to get a great deal where ever he goes. DAZN likely could offer him the highest guarantees. PBC will put him on PPVs so that will depend on how well the actual fight does. ESPN can do the same as PBC.What I should have said is he thinks he's worth what Canelo got so he's trying to get someone to pay him handsomely over the next few years.

If he isn't being used for any additional dates for 360 promotional fighters, not sure why he even thinks about ESPN. They have very little at 160 and 168 and don't have any potential 154 pounders moving up either.Comment

The more you think about it doe the more it makes sense to not have a GGG & 360 be attached to the same deal with the same platform.
GGG might have won his last fight already. He'll be 37 by the time he fights again. Who the eff wants to sign a guy to a long term deal who could reasonable retire after his next fight? I say not manny.
Or why do you sign a long term deal with GGG who might retire after his next fight while signing a multi year deal with 360's largely bs roster thats very small in comparison with most known promoters rosters? I don't think you do.
So to me it would seem like the best road for all parties is to do immediate sexy money on 1, 2 or 3 fight deals & 360 is gonna have to figure some sh^t out for itself cuz idk that thats a roster anyone wants...or wants right now cuz I do think they got some promising guys, but they are years away from meaningful sh^t. You want more of a mixture of contenders, prospects & some fringe contenders & prospects who could find themselves in a belt in the next 6-18mos. 360 ain't got many mfers like that.Comment
