Fury was already a star in the UK. Well infamous is probably the right word in some ways. For all AJ's popularity, there isn't a person that knows the name Anthony Joshua that doesn't know the name Tyson Fury in the UK. But now he's gone from infamous to popular.

As for worldwide popularity. I think the fight boosted them both but didn't exactly make them crossover stars.

"Superstar" is subjective. Even before the Fury fight, Wilder was already Showtime's top star. Their biggest ratings draw. Barclays Center's second biggest attraction. Etc. I tried to explain to the haters over and over that Wilder was already the top American star in boxing. Doing 325k at $75 in his first PPV proves that. The haters have egg on their face in a major way right now.

Not looking that up but he has the highest ppv numbers so the average doesnt matter. The peak does.

These are decent numbers. Good numbers, actually especially considering the fighters. But outside of facing AJ, this is as good as it’s going to get because these are the other two biggest names in the division. It’ll get better, but we wont see Canelo, Floyd, Oscar type numbers in the US anytime soon out of the heavyweights. This is a great sign though and if Wilder can bring it all back to America, then I think we’ll start seeing things out here. Right now the UK just has too big a star in AJ to compete and bring in numbers there
