I was watching it the other day - and IMO the ref was corrupt and was protecting Wilder. In the beginning of the 8th he stopped the action and gave Wilder extra time to recover. Then he completely ignored punches after the bell, that Wilder hit Ortiz in the 8th and 9th. The one in the 8th was particularly heavy - Ortiz was never the same.
