Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury's Father Praises Son, Deontay Wilder Too

Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury's father, John, expressed a positivity in the wake of his son's draw with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, who scored ninth- and 12th-round knockdowns but failed to earn his eighth knockout in as many title defenses last Saturday at The Staples Center in Los Angeles on Showtime Pay-Per-View.

I wonder if John Fury would have been so sanguine and stoic about the result if he was allowed to be ringside on fight night? I wouldn't be surprised if his TV screen at home had a beer bottle protruding from it at least, within 3 seconds of the words "AND STILL..."

The HW division has had new life breathed into it and yet it's locking down at the same time. If Wilder and Fury have made some kind of pact to freeze out AJ then we're almost back to square one in terms of determining who's truly the best. I look forward to Fury vs Wilder II, III, IV and hopefully V.

Much respect to John Fury for such a statement. Wish some of these fans were this respectful to the sport and to the fighters.
