What you're saying is true and apparently Hearn is looking at how many people attended the fury/wilder fight to see if wilder deserved an AJ fight.... Im sure fury could have made 3 mill fighting in the UK. Fury is more popular than wilder, yet he had no problem going to America and doing what he needed to to make the fight.

Here is some simple math so folks can understand better the rock and hard place Matchroom is in.

I am doing this because I saw a few posters say they don't need to offer Wilder or Fury 50/50, and that is false.

They DO need to offer them 50/50.

Lets say Wilder vs AJ or AJ vs Fury hits Wembley next April and it's 60/40.

Let's say they break records, so 2.5 million ppv buys and have a gate of 15 million.

That's a gross of 85 million and after deducting who gets what, that about $18.6 million for the guy getting 40%.

      Not bad at all.

Problem is, Wilder and Fury have a very lucrative option.

The gate for Canelo vs GGG II was 23.5 million.

I think the rematch will do just as well, but for arguments sake lets say it only does 18 million.

The US PPV will be as high as $99 for the rematch, but for arguments sake lets say they charge the same as the first fight, $75 and only do a million PPVs, which is quite possible given the current furor.

That's a gross of $93 million. And split 50/50 that comes to almost $26 million each.

      19 million vs 26 million.

That's why I can assure you that April is not happening without a 50/50 deal for Fury or Wilder.

They can now fight each other again and make as much or more money.

And remember, I used a record buy rate for the AJ fight and simply a modest estimate for the Vegas one.

Probably because there's lots of ****** people in the UK... who fanboy Joshua and live in a fantasy world... Where he's a usurper king on a throne abdicated by real kings.

Carry on fighting mismatches, whilst the real champs retire fighting the best.

Hearn doesn't realize that people aren't going to continue to pay for matches that they aren't interested in seeing. Fury and Wilder have a little buzz about them now and people are gonna wanna see AJ fight them sooner rather than later. AJ will need them at some point there aren't many elite guys to pick from at HW this isn't like the WW or JWW where there are options. Get the Whyte fight out of the way and then go after Fury or Wilder. Psssstttt silly deals come on dude.

I don't see him making 26-30 million for a Fury rematch. More like 10-17 million. That's why I said maybe 2-3 more big fights then hang them up, he's still in his early 30's right now.. Now If he loses the re-match then yeah maybe have a farewell fight and hang em up but if he wins 2 more including AJ and wrap it up and enjoy father time.

Either way don't want to see Wilder be 1 of those guys that hangs them up too prematurely then comes back at 36-37 looking to make another run.

Agreed and just to add to that. The Heavyweight division has always been slim pickings. That's why it's came back out of no where because there are 3-4 names at the top level.

But unless I'm mistaken, I can't ever remember a time in the Heavyweight division were the best avoided the best because like u said this isn't the MW or WW division where u have so many options to choose from..
