There was an interview Eddie gave right after the VK fight where he talked about how big the Wilder fight could get (pointing to Mayweather v. Manny). Then I read an article from Kevin Iole detailing what insiders from Wilder's side was saying when Wilder was going to accept the $15M offer (they were saying he should build up the Joshua fight instead).

I think what they planned has happened. All parties are about to get a whole lot richer because of the patience they had about this. Fury coming back was just what everybody needed. Now all three of those guys should rack in a minimum of $50 million apiece over the next 2 years.

We've had to endure this ride, but the HW division is on fire now and the fighters are better off for it. Maybe those managers/promoters know a little bit afterall lol
That's all fair enough, but I only hope that that the "marination" does not last as long as May-Pac did. By the time we got that fight it was at least a few years past it's sell-by-date and the event was a disappointment to everyone other than those who profited from it (and to an extent, some who did - team Pacman).
I reckon if we get to the end of 2020 without at least one of the top 3 HW's fading it would be a minor miracle, so the fans are on borrowed time for the undisputed fight to get made.
