Does Fury have as much to fight for as Wilder in rematch?

Fury is the people's champ now. He's accomplished what very few people could ever do in overcoming his demons and fighting valiantly in a HW title fight.

What more does he have to fight for?

Wilder has doubters to disprove. Wilder has a reputation to restore.

Doesn't it seem like the motivation edge goes to Wilder in a rematch tilt?

So you don’t think Fury will be hungry for a win because he feels like he won the first fight?

That’s not how it works. If he feels that, he’ll come out twice as hard for the rematch. No questions unanswered.

Don't be surprised if Fury gets back on the booze, gains a ton of weight, and never fights again.

Well maybe not that far, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he fought less inspired.

If he loses and especially if KOed then the first fight was for nothing because it will always just be yeah but he got stopped.

So he got to win it they both have to win it.

I pray he doesn't but this is kind of a fear of mine. His goals seem to be very personal and have little to do with traditional accolades.
If his goal was to beat Deontay Wilder, then perhaps he feels he's already done that. After all, he cared more about beating Klitschko than being lineal, unified HW champ.

I think Fury will try just as hard to win as before. He understands that if he loses what he accomplished in the first fight mostly goes away. If Fury is in the ring he is there to fight his heart out and win. If Wilder beats him it will be because Wilder fought the better fight but not because Fury didn't fight his best in my opinion. Having the world recognize him as the best heavyweight and his pride in himself as a fighter is all the motivation Fury needs.

I can understand OP. Castillo was so deflated he didn’t get decision whilst out boxing floyd, he couldn’t bring the intensity in rematch as he felt no matter what I do I can’t win.
Let’s hope fury isn’t so deflated by robbery and he’s on mission to put it right. Wilder motivation might be high if rematch is in America as he knows he can look like nfl football player yet still get a draw.
                  Let’s see wilder in manchester
