I fancied Deontay to take the rematch maybe later on but if he wants to go again then I tip my hat to the man. Trouble is, (if he keeps off the pies) Fury will only get sharper and slicker from here whereas Deontay looks like he might've hit his limit. I'll take Fury right now to skin him in a rematch, possibly even stop him late doors.

Lesser boxers would have deflated. Wilder plain flat did not. He may only have a couple of tricks in his limited pony show, but he kept FIGHTING. He was rewarded with a gut check, completely exhausted, but still all in come from behind knockdown which was a whisker hair of ending the bigger, durable fighter who was winning. Wilder has given a ton of credit to Fury, and is willing to give him another shot when he does not have to. Just like when Ortiz was beating him around the ring, Wilder has shown championship pedigree in his ability to recover and go all in when challenged.
Fury's stock has risen, that is the bigger story here But that does not mean Wilder's stock has fallen.

If Wilder didn't give Fury an immediate rematch then it would make Wilder look terrible publically.
Wilder needs Fury to accept a rematch so that Fury doesn't run off and get a fight with Joshua! A Fury v Joshua fight will do very well in the UK and reasonably well in US (I'm guessing). If Fury fights Joshua and wins, then Wilder will be back to square one trying to negotiate terms with someone who already beat him in all but the official result.
And the fans would sit there with their fingers in their ears screaming “a side can do whatever! A side can do whatever!”
Hell, a more cowardly fighter would want Fury/AJ next so he can fight the winner instead of wanting to fight both.
So yes, I think wilder deserves a ton of credit for this.

Happens all the time, more often in lower weight classes where they can move up in weight to avoid it, but heavyweights can do it by just taking mandatories and ignoring the challenger.

Credit, ok yeah, why not. I would bet that Finkel/Haymon have been whispering in his ear saying 'Get out in front of the media and be the nice guy'.

What he means is; "It's only right to publicly offer Fury a rematch (as long as it's on my turf again), to help coerce Eddie Hearn into offering me more money to fight Joshua in the UK. I ain't being the B side, away fighter unless I'm payed heftily for my troubles."

So Deontay is gonna have to learn how to box and I'm afraid he's not gonna have enough time.
