  • Comments Thread For: Porter Expects Battle From Ugas Before Getting The Knockout

Yordenis Ugas is Shawn Porter's first defense in his second reign as 147-pound world champion. He's not the marquee opponent "Showtime" desired, but the champion's treating the battle of Las Vegans like it's going to be the fight of his life.

PBC = Should be the SBC = Stay Busy Champions...

99% of the fights on the PBC are tune up fights.

To be fair to Porter, at least he fights regularly and has some big fights.

Most of the PBC fighters fight some tune up once a year that never leads to a big fight

No way he knocks out ugas. I won't be surprised if the "upset" happens here.

Going for my compatriot here, porter has never been ko'd and will come forward every round, ugas will get the clearer shots but will have to put a really good display in order to get the decision, body work from ugas could be the only way to slow down or finish porter, today is ugas saint day, i hope he prays a lot and follows the game plan. Lot of respect for porter, he's got probably one of the best resumes among active fighters, always ready to battle whoever is in front of him.

Same rate as Matchroom, and actually a lower rate than Top Rank.

Also, Ugas is not some stay busy fight. At ww, there is Spence, Thurman, Porter, DSG, TC, and then there is Ugas right below them. And then everyone else below Ugas. Ugas would be a healthy favorite over Khan and would humiliate Benadryl.

Porter has fought Brook, Broner, Thurman, and DSG. What non-PBC fighter (outside of Canelo) has that many quality fights?

Matchroom should be Mismatch room and Top Rank should be Easy Bank.

Go ahead with the double standards though. Otherwise you might be mistaken for a boxing fan instead of a troll.

                  Re

The question is, how will Ugas react, to what could a rough, physical fight, with head clashes and cuts?!

I like most everything you typed there, but especially the defense of Porter, a real boxing warrior, and Ugas who has also been quite the "step it up" fighter who has taken every opportunity before him and done great things with it. This is not some scrub or club fighter. He has not proved himself to be a "A" level yet, but he sure could in this title shot.

Porter took the best fighter available. Ugas accepted the challenge of one of the top fighters in the sport. This is a great fight.
