i'm sure his hand was hurt going into the fight, but boxers throw out the word broken way too much. i've broken / chipped knuckles on both hands. i wou;dnt be at a press conference holding a microphone or a bottle of water. you can't even squeeze with your other fingers.

wilder does ahve a leg to stand on in that he's got a history of hand problems, and several plates and screws in one of his hands. but the idea that his hand was "broken" going into the fight is ridiculous. his hands are enormous, the swelling would be something you cannot miss. produce an x ray or some verifying medical data.

It's ironic how many wilder fans were saying along the lines of "Don't make excuses when Fury gets KO'd", yet they can't look closer to home...

If they thought Fury was at his best in this fight, they’re going to be in for a rude awakening after they see what he looks like after the next training camp.

I don't think its crazytown he had an injury or some soreness with his hand, but I find it extremely hard to believe his hand was broken. From my understanding they do check you out a lil bit previous to fighting to make sure you are fit & if he had a broken hand I'd bet the swelling would make it hard to get past the physical part of getting okay'd.

Yea I think its ridiculous to, but if he gots some x ray's or something fair play show them I guess.

Personally I think lying about a serious injury like a broken hand should get someone automatically suspended too (6-12mos). Like I said I don't feel like thats the case here, but who knows. I know that one guy got past the commission with only one good leg awhile back & he for sure shoulda gotten a nice suspension for that bs. You are risking your own health, you are not coming in at your absolute reasonable best shape to give fans their value & you are requiring the officials to be one point just a lil more which could put fighters in a lil more danger with officials having incomplete info about what they should be concerned with.

Even in camp I barely ever threw my right hand; you can ask all my sparring partners. That could have been another reason why I was so off as well too. I had all these sparring partners and most of the whole camp was nothing but jabs.”

Wilder: “I don’t make excuses. It was a great fight. You got the best of Tyson Fury and you only got the half-best of me. And I still did what I had to do. Imagine me with my full potential. That was all my fault; I blame myself.”

Wilder: “Nothing he did affected me. The punches didn’t affect me. I was fighting myself and him.”
so you jabbed the entire camp and still got out jabbed and only landed 16 percent of your jabs?

Not once did we see his hand in a cast. If you break your hand it’s in a cast for a good eight weeks. Then it takes considerable time to heel and get back to normal before you can even think about training again. Lying excuse maker, but who expected any less?
