Where does USYK fit in in the HW division??

I see no place for him in the hw division. He’s going to get mauled by all of the so called big 3, and then some of the lesser ones too like whyte, Joyce.

But wanna see what the experts on here think. Is he the dark horse of the division, the one they all underestimate? Or is he just getting ktfo in his first real hw test?

He’s a bigger man than Wilder. Big shoulders, wide back.

But Wilder has the ultimate equaliser.

Whyte or Parker would be a good test for him. Two proper heavies but not with the advantages Fury or AJ would have.

Even Joyce. Usyk kicked his arse before but for 36 minutes with the small gloves? That’s a long night even for Usyk

Usyk is special though and he’s a got a big frame. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t competitive. He’d outbox Wilder for as long as he’s upright

I don't think we can tell much until he fights at the weight. He should start with a fringe contender though. No need to rush anything. He should spend next year fighting regular guys and getting used to the weight. Let the behemoths fight each other for a bit.

I always am skeptical of Cruisers moving up to HW. How many have done it with any success? One or two maybe? It's just a whole different world with these HW. The step-up in power is massive..

He ain't diesel like Holyfield. I don't see him beating any big players at HW. Wilder, Fury, Ortiz? Hell nah. AJ, Whyte, or Parker? no way. Big Baby, Adam Kownacki? I don't even think he beats Bryant Jennings. Skills are there, but the HW of this era are REAL BIG HEAVYWEIGHTS.

According to BoxRec, Holyfield and Usyk have similar dimensions.
Kownacki may be much heavier than Usyk, but he also has similar dimensions. Jennings is also not tall, and is actually one of the slimmer HWs right now.

Essentially, Usyk's success at HW depends mostly on the quality of his team. If he safely puts on enough muscle without sacrificing speed, the only guys that will give him problems are the top-tier HWs.

I think the Chisora/whyte loser could be a good opponent for him, with fury fighting the winner.
