This result could be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully Wilder reflects back on this fight, thinks "**** playing kiss-chase with this guy again" and signs the contract for the unification fight in April '19 at Wembley. Far more chance of him getting knocked out; but it's also easier to knock somebody out yourself if they are genuinely trying to do the same to you instead of being intent on point-scoring.
Fury can then make noises about challenging the winner, though he would probably have to get into a mandatory position. If a undisputed champ wanted to keep all the belts then mando's are all he would have time to fight.Comment

I see a similar outcome with this match up compared to Wilder-Fury. There's no way for Wilder to win outright unless he gets his bomb in, relies too much on power and has a severe deficiency in technical skills.Comment

i think u guys dont appreciate how hard it is fighting a guy like fury at 6'9 and moves like a welterweight..you are all so quick to dismiss wilder but would joshua really do any better. i see fury playing with joshua and i think wilder vs joshua will be a shootout probably a real fight for the ages but fury's ring generalship and fight IQ is way above either wilder or joshuaComment

How the f#uck are you counting Ortiz one of "the best" if you have to fight the best to be the best? Then if Wilder has only fought a past it Ortiz (not the best) and arguably just lost to Fury, he would not be 'the best'.
AJ fought Wlad, Povetkin and Parker all arguably among the best and AJ has been generally cosidered no.1 HW before Wilder v Fury so how has he gone down? Did I miss something did they all have a fight in the carpark or something after? There's level and all Wilder did is prove he's not on that Wlad, Fury, AJ level.Comment

It was fighting the best. Tell me what active heavyweight was better at that time bear in mind fury had just retired. He may have had two years out of the ring but those two years were spent constantly in training camp.klitschko was in his 40's with over 2 years out of the ring. yes it was a step up but it wasnt fighting the best. fury beat him years before that without any layoff. im not dishing joshua its just clear hes more interested in earning money and building a recored than fighting the very best
Unproven Ortiz who’s best win was Bryant Jennings?
Or wilder himself who showed no willingness to be great whatsoever at that point.
It’s all well and good rewriting history now but at the time wlad had only been defeated once in ten years against one of the most naturally talented heavyweights we have seen it years.
Aj definitely stepped up and fought the best competition available.Comment

wilder went toe to toe with ortiz and fury whereas no matter what u say joshua recently struggled against parker and takam who are a level below. how can u even consider him the best until he fights fury or wilder ffs u guys are deluded fanboysHow the f#uck are you counting Ortiz one of "the best" if you have to fight the best to be the best? stop giving credit to joshua for going life and death with a semi retired wlad when fury destroyed an active wald years before that. yes it was a good win but to be the man u gotta beat the man and considering fury is the lineal champ and deontay is the longest serving champ he needs to fight them. turning down 50m was just pathetic eddie and joshua wanted everything in their favour and they're greed has given the limelight to fury and wilder and rightly so..they stood up and fought each other while joshua carefully selects his opponentsIt was fighting the best.
