I've read the story, just as many others have - and yeah, it's possible Stevenson was scared of this dude - though from my understanding I think he was only a coupla years older and he was hardly the 'don' of some extensive criminal organisation but more the leader of a small gang of which Adonis was co-head / muscle.

I'm already inclined to allow that Stevenson's past crimes should stay in the past, but to try to excuse them by painting him as a victim of circumstance doesn't really wash, man. Of course there's always more to any story, but the simple fact is that we all still bear responsibility for our own actions... and what's this about the cutting off of bits? I've never seen it said anywhere that Fox was notorious for doing that, or even that he even did it a single time. You just made that ish up I think, which is a slightly odd thing to do. Besides, if Stevenson was Fox's enforcer in a small gang who's he gonna get to do the messy bit?

EDIT: Just to be clear, I do understand what you're saying, and many of us understand what it is to be caught in circumstance, but it sounds too much like you're trying to excuse his behaviour, whatever you say.

Stevenson took dirty money to beat girls. Adonis wasn't hired to be a cook, he accepted the job of beating girls for a pay day and absolutely should be held responsible.
