Comments Thread For: Fury: Wilder Caught Me Flush, But I Got Up - I Don't Know How

LOS ANGELES One of the most asked questions after the Deontay Wilder-Tyson Fury draw Saturday night: How the hell did Fury get up from that 12th-round knockdown? Wilder, who many believed needed a knockout to win the fight going into the final round, landed a crushing right to Fury's head followed a just-as-vicious left as he was on his way to the canvas.

Anyone who knows boxing knows Fury is legit. A big man who can move like a flyweight. How can you hate on that. God bless Tyson Fury, I love this guy.

Fury got some chin, is in very good shape to recover and has a hellova will. That said wilder has a great jaw and conditioning as well, he just got a master class boxing lesson. I’m thinking fury will continue to get in better shape over the next couple of fights and being only 30 and haven’t taken really any punishment, coupled with the fact that HWs mature in their 30’s, as will Joshua and wilder(as long he stops drinking so much of his own juice and accepts that fact that he has a lot to learn) there can be some really good fights over the next few years

Fury got up because he was allowed 30 seconds to do so. If he received a normal 10 count that was a ko. The ref waited until Fury got up. He could have taken until the final bell if he wanted.

They can hate him all they want, fact is he is the best boxer in the HW division, and will continue to evolve. As much confidence and self belief as he showed, he himself didn’t know how he’d perform at the top, after this performance he’s going to be even better and more confident.

You must be confusing what you seen with the wilder Ortiz fight when Haymon gave the order for the doctor to save wilder and all the money ingested in him

Not gonna lie I wasn’t a Fury fan before, but I am now. I wrote him off when he was talking about a comeback when he was 400 pounds. He proved me wrong.

Let's see... Fury failed a ped for anabolic steroids. The next time, he refused to give a sample and kicked out the testers. He was suspended for two years and did not take any ped tests. He came back early this year and didn't take any real ped test. He announced this fight in August, made it official and went on tour to promote it in September and didn't sign up for VADA until mid-October. Which is against the WBC's own rules. Fury was exempt from the random drug testing, after failing a test and not taking any tests for years.

Fury's conditioning will improve if he is allowed to be exempt from drug testing. Make him undergo the testing that Wilder, Canelo, and everyone else ranked by the WBC and Fury's stamina will disappear.

Wow, some one who is a known ped cheat didn't take any ped tests for over two years and showed stamina!

The English do not care if their athletes cheat. Canelo was ridiculed for not immediately signing up for random ped testing for his 6 month suspension. Yet Fury did not do any ped testing for nearly three years. It is amazing what professional athletes who are not tested for peds can do.

Also, it will be difficult to get another fight with a no knockout clause. It was in the contract that Fury is not allowed to be counted from a knockdown. Nevada wouldn't sanction a fight with that clause, that is why it was in Cali.

One thing we all can agree on. Fury is withdrawing from VADA and not doing any ped testing for a long time. An immediate rematch isn't happening as that would require Fury to remain in the CBP.

Fury was allowed to be exempt from the ped testing that all WBC fighters must undergo and was given unlimited time to recover from a knockdown. And he still couldn't win. That a "boxer" on peds with a no knockout clause can not beat a slugger proves Fury is a fraud. He had everything in his favor and still couldn't win. Fury has been exposed.
