Wilder is far from a 'bum'...

Problem is people hype up these undefeated guys to ridiculous proportions and then throw them on the trash heap when they show limitations that they always had before they were blinded by hype. Hes not a fraud or a bum, hes a world class puncher who almost pulled a rabbit out of the hat in the last round by never giving up. I dont agree with the decision but with the knockdowns it was close, if he was as crap as people are saying he wouldnt have had a close fight with arguably the best fighter in the division. I was vocal about fury 'not being the same' but to me he looked pretty similar to the wlad fight version, and got to give wilder credit he gave him far more problems than wlad did. He was getting outboxed in large patches but i think people are exaggerating a bit about the extent of it, he was blocking a lot of shots that the commentators were going crazy about and fury was winning rounds just by landing a couple more clean jabs

His skill level is piss poor.
His heart and power are fantastic.

If he had average power, he'd be a bum let's be honest.

Let’s not forget, he was fighting Fury who looked very very flabby, sluggish, and has had two warm up matches with duds after losing 10 stone in fat, quitting coke, and being suicidal.

How would a prime Fury fair against Wilder?

Wilder - avoid a rematch with Fury, else your payday with AJ will be gone. Give Fury another 3 months or so and he may be primed for the rematch.

I entirely agree. Wilder is probably one of the most awkward looking championship-level fighters I can remember (and I was watching boxing when Ali and Frazier started their trilogy). Power cures a lot of ills though. He's damn difficult to watch in many cases because he looks like he's having a seizure while throwing some of his punches. I've seen better boxing form from NHL players but as long as he's putting people on their ass a couple times per fight he's not going to lose.

That's the difference between us and the raging Deontay fanboys...they will never admit such a thing. They would rather pretend that he won the fight or that he actually KO'd Fury in that last round! Wilder is not a bum like you said and his punching power is scary. But he did not win the fight and they robbed Tyson of it.

And yeah like other's have said if Wilder didn't have that punching power he would have lost 12-0 or 11-1...but he does and that makes him dangerous

He’s a bum with a lot of power in his right hand.

Fury was out of shape and rusty still yet absolutely dominated him.

His boxing skills are bum status. He's the least skilled title holder i've seen, yes that includes Martin. Martin has better boxing skills. He's all athleticism and power.

                    People like to exaggerate.

His boxing has improved a lot. He may have started out as a bum in terms of boxing skill but surely he's been in a world class training environment for years now and he looks to have tightened it up a lot.

His power was never that exceptional -- all guys that size have more than enough power for a one-shot KO and accuracy makes the difference.

People like to operate in this simple world where everyone is either a featherfisted defensive wizard or a powermad caveman and not much in the middle, but almost never is either one true.
