Wilder/Fury confirmed what smart people knew

For a long, long time, people with at least half a brain have been able to see that Wilder's record was built on tailor-made opponents, that exaggerated his strengths, and hid his weaknesses.

For a long, long time, people have been saying that Wilder is going to struggle against a fighter who has at least half decent movement - his best wins (Ortiz and Stiverne) are stationary, concrete-footed guys who are perfect for someone who throws big, wild right hands. As soon as Wilder came up against a guy who wasn't going to stand there to be hit, he would struggle. And that's exactly what happened.

His immense power (legitimately the biggest puncher in the division, no doubt) was on display, but the fact of the matter is, he was outboxed six ways from Sunday. When he couldn't land the big shots - which is the only way he knows how to win a fight - he looked lost, and slow.

It's an absolute disgrace that the fight was scored a draw. Wilder may have done a Houdini to avoid a loss (thanks to quite obviously corrupt judging - is anyone surprised?), but we have pretty clear cut evidence of his limitations now.

It's almost impossible to defend the credibility of US boxing now - another judge on the payroll has ruined what should have been a clear cut result.

I think boxing is plagued with corrupt judges and officials. To the point that you'd be a fool to bet on most fights unless you had an insider connection.

However I don't think Wilder was in on anything. He was genuinely going Hail Mary and looked ready to concede defeat in the end.

He has improved a lot. A lot of fighters would have just quit ala rigo/walters but he turned it into an entertaining match. He actually had some defense too.

If it was still the same Wilder who Molina nearly KO'd then Fury would have dispatched him in a few rounds. Wilder has come a long way.

Have you seen Ortiz's ring movement? There's a reason why he can't cut anyone off.

And no, it's not shade if it's being honest about someone's limitations. There's credit to Wilder there - he is the biggest puncher in the sport - but if having a genuine criticism of someone, where there's evidence to support it, makes you tear up.. then that ain't throwing shade - that's just you having hurt feelings.

Yeah, we all knew Wilder had limited skills, but a big right hand that will flatten anyone. We knew that Fury would be ahead on the cards when Wilder connected with the shot that separated Fury from his consciousness.

What we didn't know was that Fury could come back from the dead...

yeah but this fury is still way off the fury of 3 years ago, that makes it very bad for wilder, i thought fury would lose this badly, i can never slag him off again, ever
