Hurd is one of my favorite fighters currently. I think he was testing his shoulder out in different situations against Welborn and when the British fighter started to have some success, Hurd opted to end the fight. I don't think Hurd is afraid of Charlo, but I also don't know if he feels completely comfortable with his shoulder yet (hence a fight before Charlo). I think Charlo will be a tough challenge for Hurd stylistically but I also think Hurd is mentally tougher than Jermell. Should be a good fight when it happens.

Well we saw in the post fight interview in the ring that Mell was mentally tougher....LOL

Hurd will be favored and should be!

He’s the more poised of the two and can fight with more dimensions!

Folks don’t understand he just came from a bad injury and was testing his shoulder out and working on his defense!

Once he saw how game Welborn was he decided to end it!

Charlo is straight up and down but is technically compact for a hot head!

Would be a pretty good fight where it would determined in the late rounds!

Hurd deserves one more tune up and then they can get it on!

I think Hurd will beat Charlo quite easily like he said he will. Charlo is good but not the slick boxer Lara is. He'll be right there to get hit and he'll come in straight up, with no fancy head movement. He'll succumb to the same pressure everyone else did and might end up getting knocked out.

I got Mell beating hurd. hurd don't even want to fight him....LOL

No one beats Charlo "quite easily". If Hurd though so, he wouldn't need another fight before he fights Charlo. I do favor Hurd slightly, but good close fight.

I think Hurd didn’t expect Welborn to be so game. He came off looking bad with the double low blow followed by excellent body shot but I think the result was inevitable and he could have stuck it on him from round 1 and looked a lot better.
