Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Made a Bigger Statement Than Deontay Wilder

I felt Wilder won, but yeah I feel like Tyson made a statement while Wilder looked his absolute worst to date.
13 more punches is not a huge lead in punch count. Not big enough to have clearly won every round and certainly not enough to offset two knockdowns.
I felt Wilder needed to punch with Tyson rather than waiting his turn and Tyson showed us the ***** in him. Wilder was scared to punch with Tyson. That's bad for his style. Marciano and Foreman used to box like Wilder, different due to having different body types but similar theories. You have to be willing to punch with your opponent when you can't catch them It is your final ace. The dancer has to get into punching range to land and when they do given they are the dancer and you are planted you just step in with them and trade their feather fist bull**** for your hammerfisted clobbering and you'll get the win.
What Wilder chose to do instead was try to keep the punch count close every round by offsetting Fury's combinations with singles while hoping the judges see his singles as the more meaningful punches to steal rounds. Clearly it worked to some degree for him, and clearly the Marciano method would have had him even farther behind, but, I am a fan of specialists not well rounded. Tyson was a specialist all night long, he kicked ass and looked good doing it. Wilder bastardized his style because he was scared if he didn't Fury would win. Fear....ain't what I want to see in a puncher. Probably the worst quality a puncher could have. A boxer can have them some fear, nerves, things of the sort. Show some respect for the other side's offense. The puncher needs absolute belief in themselves.
I saw fear in Wilder. I saw fear in Fury too but Fury can use his to stay safe. Wilder's got no time for fear and fear has no place in Wilder's skillset.Comment

We all enjoyed it or we wouldn't be talking about it so much.
Hell, it was the fight of the year (FOTY) by far, especially because it was in the heavy weight division which is crucial to the future of boxing.
True boxing fans just want to come out of one of these bit time fights without so much controversy.Comment

This was meant to be a show piece fight for wilder
His first ppv fight .... he genuinely thought he would knock fury out easily
He got mugged off the whole fight apart from the two knock downs and had a home cooked Draw
Great fight though , can’t wait for the rematchComment

Who's to say how much is in their bank accounts, be they joined or not? Does anybody ever check them. I bet if you audited all the shady score judges the last 10 years you'd find find at least a few with dodgy financial dealings such as assets such as land, property, ***elry they couldn't account for.
Do you know how easy it is to purchase polished diamonds worth $30,000 per diamond and then give them as presents to be cashed in a dozen years down the line ??Comment

He got caught in the 9th and I thought he cooked but he came back in the 10th and bossed that round. In the 12th round I was still anxious for him and then smack he hit the canvas. I screamed like a female thinking it was over but more importantly knowing that the Wilderlites have escaped by the skin of their teeth. I couldn’t believe Fury got up. I thought he got the nod but it is what it isComment

I think he means Wilder took a risk in fighting Fury, but picked to fight him now due to Fury's long lay off and only two easy warm up fights. A calculated risk thinking they would win and in doing so get a large payday, supposed lineal status and more bargaining power over the AJ fight. Fury's stock has gone up, he survived and got a drawer and most also see him as winning the fightComment

For a guy in myself that claims to not even like Fury I lived every moment with him in that fight. Initially I just didn’t want him to be blasted out of there inside 3 rounds and then the Wilderlites we be on here in full force. However after the 5th round I was slipping every right hand with him.

can you imagine if Fury was not out of boxing so long flipped out got fat and had 2 very easy fights how he would have dominated and embaressed wilder.it would be worse then a sparring session. Fury was not even 75% ready for this fightComment

Fury lost the 2nd round and the ones he was K'down, All other 9, he won easily.
There was even one round where Wilder threw 31 punches and landed 1!
So go figure how Wilder won that round for you! LOL PFFFTComment
