If a mandatory world championship bout under the WBA, IBF or WBO goes to purse bid, the champion is typically entitled to 75%, with 25% remaining for the challenger.
It's only the WBC that had the 70/30 split, although it's been modified in recent years. Now, 90% of the purse bid is split 70/30, but the other 10% goes to the winner of the fight.
So the champion winds up with 73% if he wins and 63% if he loses.

Even though it is a voluntary defense, a 97/3 split seems ridiculous. I hope Jason W. wins just because of that lol so he can get a decent payday afterward.
