The last "World Championship Boxing" broadcast of HBO's 45-year run in boxing drew lower ratings Saturday night than its previous such telecast. Nielsen Media Research ratings released Wednesday indicated that HBO's main event, Dmitry Bivol's victory over Jean Pascal, attracted a peak audience of 537,000 viewers. An average audience of 467,000 watch the Bivol-Pascal telecast from Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Cuz they kept promoting the losers & disrespecting the winners....That's what happens when you keep faking the funk. Next time do what Showtime is doing & that's promoting the winners.

The goal of HBO, get the worst low viewers rating in history

I saw this fight free, because HBO put the channel free between November, 21 to November, 25. I was hoping to see the December, 8, 2018 farewell card and to see Jim Lampley crying when they say the final good bye words, but my eyes are going to the mismatch unification of Lomachenko vs Pedraza. HBO truck in the past intros have his use when they pack in December, 8, 2018 and flee from Showtime, ESPN+ and DAZN forever.

What an end of an Era? However, they had one hell of a run though. HBO had helped launched the careers of so many champions, pay per view stars, HOf's and all-time greats. Thanks for all the wonderful memories HBO. You will be missed!

Sh.it #s , but to be expected and their final show will be even worse

I’ve been critical of HBO for awhile, mostly their biased broadcasting team that didn’t give honest assessments of the fights

Even though ESpN seems to have taken the baton now as far as BS commentary

But talk About Going our on a whimper. Their last cards have been absolutely atrocious and their ending it with 2 women fights. Like
Could you put together a sh.ittier final card

F.ucking shame that a industry leader and a
Network that I grew up on watching boxing went to absolute garbage in no time Flat

How Nelson still has a job is amazing, since he took over he fu.cking took a brand that had been a industry leader for decades and nosedived it into irrelevance and killed it in record time

You must be living in an alternate reality. The exact opposite is true. HBO kept defending corrupt decisions and corrupt referees, and promoting the people who won by robbery instead of the real winners. Jim Lampley even called the Nevada State Athletic Commission the best in the world. They'd excuse waiting until the winners got old before fighting them in the first place, using weak excuses like "maybe this is just what happens when they finally step up to the elite level." And what about Andre Ward stepping up to the elite level? Every other fight he had besides when they gave him another robbery over Darnell Boone, Ward won almost every round, but against even past prime Kovalev, he lost a lot of rounds. That means all his other opponents were not on the elite level if they could not win rounds but someone else could, someone else who was not even still on the elite level himself by that point.

And yet, all HBO would talk about was Kovalev or GGG stepping up to the elite level, not Ward or Canelo, and they would constantly downplay the fact that both Canelo and Ward waited until GGG and Kovalev had declined before they fought them, and then still lost, but still got the decisions.

That's when everyone started tuning out of boxing. That and May-Pac. The only big events since then have featured MMA fighters, because there are way less robberies in the UFC, or Mexican holidays, for obvious reasons. No one wants to see Soviet style hometown decisions in the USA the land of the free. People flee other countries to the USA to get away from that ****. If they start seeing it on their TVs in the USA as well, they will change the channel. The USA is supposed to be different than that.

I live here & see what's going on & I'm NOT in a "alternate reality." You are part of the corruption in boxing, YOU work for them, idiot. You think I can't see you? You are in the losers circle with your never fought a day in your life Twinky ass....LMMFAO!

S.O.G. WHOOPED kovalev but of course YOU don't know how to box OR score a fight so you wouldn't know jack shet. Nelo outboxed Triple L then beat the "Mexican Style" out of Triple L. Jacobs ALSO beat Triple L which was the corruption to set up the Nelo fight. Your dumb ass is TRYING to flip the scripted cuz kovalev was NOT old & neither was Triple B1tch. YOU ran with what jim lampley said about Triple L getting old. It WAS in FACT that they FINALLY stepped up to fight ELITE fighters such as S.O.G. & Nelo. ALL the shet you support has been going down the drain like hbo….LMMFAO!! GTFOH with your dumb talk.

GGG was 35 and 36 years old when Canelo fought him. Every athletic study says athletes decline late twenties or 30 most sports, some sports 32 at the latest. According to science, GGG was old and past prime. As for Kovalev, he was 33 and 34, also 1 to 4+ years past prime according to science, and that's for healthy athletes. Add in his bad training habits, his drinking and smoking, his partying, etc, and you can understand why he was a past prime fighter by age 32.

So Im going to side with science on this one over your opinion, no offense.
