Former WBO 122 pound champion Jessie Magdaleno (25-1) has been out of the ring since his stoppage loss to Isaac Dogboe in April. The fight had multiple knockdowns and is in the running for 2018 Fight of the Year. Magdaleno floored Dogboe in the first round but the Ghanan fought back and dropped Magdaleno in the fifth round and two more times in the eleventh to prompt the referee to waive the fight off.

There a plenty of solid fights and new opportunities to compete for a world-championship for Jessie Magdaleno @ Featherweight : Quigg, Selby, Mares, Jo-Jo, Valdez, Warrington, Frampton, Russel jr, Santa Cruz, are more than enough viable options.

Isaac Dogboe should be moving up to 126 in the near future so we can also look forward to a rematch. Its too bad Jessie has wasted so much of his prime years ; Magdaleno was out for nearly a year on his return vs. Dogboe, now Jessie is looking at almost a ten month layoff since losing the WBO 122 title in April this year.

Fortunately Jessie is still young and we should see him in the mix at the new weight, lets see how he fairs with the bigger and much more experienced crop.

I seriously never understood how some fighters that get knocked out and stopped at lower weight classes think they will automatically do better at a higher weight class, the probability is that you will get stretched worse

when this fight was first made I said he would lose and everybody laughed when i said Isaac punches and broke my fighter shoulder who was a light-welterweight but thinking i was mad man. He thinks he still champ

it's usually because they were having a tough time making weight to begin with. If they don't have to drain themselves as much, they'll carry more power up with them. Best example I can think of off the top of my head, Naoya Inoue had 8 fights at 115. He won all of them in an average of 5.5 rounds with one fight going the distance. Since he moved up to 118, each of his fights have been first round KO's against opponents who had never even been knocked down.

You'll see him move in weight more than Mikey Garcia if Dogboe keeps following him. I never seen a so called champ fight anyone as scared of their opponent as maggy was afraid of Dogboe.
